Travelling today is rather a past-time/hobby than a life event.

Travelling pre-facebook meant something. When you travelled you truly did immerse yourself in a foreign culture since there was no real escape. It was even better and more of an experience pre-internet days as well.

But today in 2014, people are travelling across the global just to take pictures and post on facebook to show others that they are cultured now. They travel across the global so when the topic of travelling comes up in the suburban house party they won’t be left out. People don’t even experience the country they are in most of the time. They just spent majority of the time in the city center and tourist areas. Take Thailand for example. People travel there just to have sex with whorish locals and other tourists. It is pure madness now. Same applies to the contiki tours of Europe.

The group that has devalued travelling the most is white women. Such sheeps, they don’t want to be left out and seen as uncool. So they load up on debt or use mommy and daddy’s saving so they can tell a story and look edgy.

Even white people are treated better overseas; travelling as a black person you will experience more of a foreign nation than cacs IMO. So contradictory as it might sound, get your passports brothas

The real problem is why people let their EGO get in control of them where they take something such as traveling or not traveling and turn it into something it shouldn't be. I like to travel but that shyt doesn't make me better or worse than anybody else that doesn't like traveling. Folks always trying to find ways to say how insecure they are with themselves under the guise of ego and picking random things that shouldn't matter. The same people always being egotistical saying how better they are and etc are miserable as all hell because they not just learning to enjoy the opportunity they have in front of them.

I see what the OP is saying though. Folks be doing shyt for the gram instead of just living in the moment and enjoying themselves. Nothing wrong with taking pictures. It's usually the purpose behind that shyt that's the issue which is ego. Trying to make other people feel sad about their lives by bragging about being able to travel and having the time and money to travel and all this ego driven shyt. It's not good. That's inviting negativity.

The point I'm making is that theres folks out there who are living their lives for other people. They want other people to give a fukk because their ego depends on that shyt. Traveling is one way they go about it. shyt is sad.

People can show off all they want but when you come back home, you still gonna deal with what everybody is dealing with which is the unpredictability of LIFE and the constant hardships that we can't control...

I'm waiting for the day when social media gets played out and uncool. How many of you folks putting all your time and energy for some likes, attention, and whatever living on your phone, taking all sorts of pictures and etc gonna be acting brand new like that wasn't yall doing that shyt. just wait.
