Hey I’m not gonna disrespect the man and call him a liar….he just doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about.

Now if you’re asking is his comment a knowledgeable football take? Lol Hell no

Whoa, whoa, where's the lie, or i don't know what im talking about? I'm going off what Gladstone said, that Hunter was the biggest star in the draft.

And is football not a business?

Good NFL football players become stars. You don’t draft lesser players bc they’re college “stars”. That is legitimately asinine lol If he really said that I’d be shocked.

Yea Football is a business and winning helps exponentially. Not college name brands. How much did Peter warrick help the bengals? (Financially or otherwise). How much did Ron dayne help the Giants? (Financially or otherwise). How much did Leonard fournette help these same Jaguars? (Financially or otherwise).

So yea, respectfully, I cannot stress how ridiculous that thinking is that they drafted Travis bc he’s a “star” Lmao

He got benched 2nd half this week. On defense

He'll figure it out. Two way star is his destiny

You don't trade up to #2 for a non-QB who needs to figure it out, though. That's where premium players get drafted to have an immediate impact. Especially when you make a questionable decision like drafting him over Abdul Carter and Mason Graham, both of whom are having immediate impact.

He doesn't even look like a great receiver. It's early obviously but unless you're hurt...1st round receivers should look a certain way and reach a certain level of production. I'm not saying he's gonna be a bust but he doesn't look the part.

Especially for RBs and WRs. In todays game you should be able to step in right away and at least show signs if not be a straight up factor. Dudes like Egbuka and Nabers and JSN and Ladd etc man them dudes coulda been in the league since they was sophomores. Jeremiah smith already a better WR than Travis.

It’s a young man’s position ain’t supposed to be no ‘figure it out’. There are exceptions (Ie Quentin Johnson), but yea

uptXwn***///***///

he may have the will to do it

he may have the mental capacity to do it

but playing both sides means more chances for the opponent to hit him & he's not built sturdy

Hes probs never gonna be that.

A smart coach would have him full on cb and then have a 3rd down package that the other team has to plan/waste time for. trying to have him play a zillion snaps a game is retarded because if he gets injured grats you lost two important positions.

its so dumb

And honestly I think this "both sides" fantasy shyt is hurting his development. This isn't HS or college. These are grown men with elite physical skills...you're not gonna be able to play on both sides effectively across a 17 game season lol. And the danger for Travis is that IF he ends up under performing on both sides this season, you can bet your ass the coaches are gonna dead that experiment next year.

First round receivers who don't hit certain metrics don't last long. Only a few guys like that end up being well on the team that drafted them. Jameson Williams comes to mind, and he had a super late season ACL injury in college so that first year and a half was basically a mulligan. Flip side Xavier Legette got people on his ass right now, and he's only in year two.

I mean him being elite at both ends is the fantasy ofc but unfortunately it kind of has to come to fruition for that pick to make any sense because of what they gave up and graham is going to be a demon because he is on the same line with garrett. will be a pro bowler just off of osmosis very likely

so hunter has to be a top 5 player at one of those, cb is more likely. he aint doing shyt at wr lets be honest.

They using his too scattered. Went from playing him minimal defensive snaps the 1st game, to a LOT of defensive snaps the next 2 games, and basically took him out for Game 4.

We can see the flashes, I just wish the Jags would find a more consistent way to utilize him. But I guess they gotta feel it out this way to know for sure.

Just Win Baby
Just keep him at CB. Two way shyt in NFL is impossible. A true starting CB is harder to come by than a slot WR

Eventually they'll have to decide, I don't see him topping out as more then a Nickel DB/Slot WR at best if trying to do both. A true #1 CB would be far more valuable

He’s shown flashes of greatness at both positions. That’s what’s weird about it.

I think they will lean offense bc of his stature but he’s definitely one of the 3 best dbs we have on the team

coach claimed there was a personal reason "in house" why trav didnt play defense the 2nd half. Any idea what it is?
