Thank you. You really do not know how long I have been waiting to get Trinidad James' opinion on this whole situation with France.

Are you born in a western nation? If so CHANCES are (chances not definitely that's what I said, and truthfully that's the impression I get from most black people in real life and those I've talked to online) you'll feel innately closer to this country and western nations than an Africa, there's plenty of black people who don't even like the term African American. You made plenty of good/valid points. But don't shyt on the term 'woke', now.
That's the exact cultural bias we are referring to. Except that we are calling out that bullshyt while you are turning it into an excuse. I don't know about you, but I don't have any cultural ties to France. I do have African ancestry so that's enough for me to discard your theory that we deep down inside feel more sympathy for French cacs than we do for Africans. The media doesn't "sensationalize" tragedies occurring outside the west because the general population couldn't give a fukk, it's not the other way around.
I would say we have closer cultural ties to the BLACK community in the west specifically. Remember that generalizing "Western culture" implies you are referring strictly to European influenced culture.
Anyway, I understand why cacs would be conditioned to care less. There's probably a study on how cultural/racial bias affects the majority-race in terms of not being able to sympathize with people who are foreign to their way of life. But we as black people should know better than to mourn white France while remaining blind to the rest of the world. Especially our African brothers and sisters.

And no it's make than just black western culture, sure there are distinctions but black Americans are just as apart of American culture/society as any white person born.
And I don't expect black people to "know better" when this is the country they're born in and who they'll identify with.
I've had a hard time convincing black people Africa isn't all just dirt roads and huts or that it's not okay to call them "spear chuckers" or other terms jokingly, humans aren't built for this type of perspective.
Of course that doesn't mean you should just give up or anything because minds can be changed.
It's true.
It's true.
They won't be happy.
One minute it's fukk white people and white opinions and the next it's why aren't they giving me validation or it's why aren't they protesting or not acknowledging these issues and then it's not enough or they'll ignore it.
Stick with one.

Taken multiple pictures over the span of few months that based on circumstances I don't feel like typing up again could be someone else and I've talked with people in the tinychat who could verify.

That's the point of the thread there is an effort to ignore what happened in Nigeria...Unless there's a conscious effort on their part to trivialize or ignore the deaths of people or in these countries or ignore the history of western shenanigans that lead to it then you shouldn't be getting so furious about it as if you actually keep up on these things and aren't just trying to be self righteous.
Is it wrong and an issue yes? But if you're going to attack the issue attack it correctly and stop trying to racialize it or call black people c00ns for being a product of the place they're born.

Breh.. You fail to understand that this is not about getting validation from whites, this is about continuing to point out how white supremacy operates and explain it to people willing to listen. It's true.

Not colorblind there's a difference.Black people who don't want to be identified as blacks/Africans? That's the "new black/colorblind" bullshyt, these people are c00ns. Like it or not, America is divided. Don't try to lump us all together as if we had the same cultural environment and experiences as a whole. I will give you that our generation is steaming with both black pride and shame. Hip hop culture is upside down, black kids pointing and laughing at anything remotely African, but we as woke black people don't need to excuse the fukkery by saying it's only natural to care about a society that doesn't care for us a whole. Did France mourn the Charleston shooting? Well, didn't it happen in a Western country?
"We are all westerners" - only black westerners think that way. Europeans are pro-Europeans, fam.![]()
I can remember shootings in Africa an other crisis that have gotten a decent news coverage and I'm sure during the 90's their was a lot. That's the point of the thread there is an effort to ignore what happened in Nigeria...
When Ukrainians were getting killed there was constant coverage on CNN, Fox, etc.
Nigeria and Ukraine are both poor countries so why do you think the western media suddenly knew what was happening in Ukraine but ignored what happened in Nigeria?

I doubt the western media will ever see lost African lives as newsworthy
