That’s why it didn’t work out![]()
how far you think he actually would've gotten if Vince was still in charge?
July 25, 2022 is when Triple H took over creative.
Here’s a detailed timeline of Austin Theory’s U.S. Championship reigns in WWE:
First Reign
- Won on April 18, 2022 (Monday Night RAW), defeating Finn Bálor to claim his first United States Championship en.wikipedia.org+15it.wikipedia.org+15fightful.com+15.
- Lost the title on July 2, 2022 (Money in the Bank), dropping it to Bobby Lashley, ending a 75-day reign es.wikipedia.org+3it.wikipedia.org+3de.wikipedia.org+3.
Second Reign
- Regained the championship on November 26, 2022, at Survivor Series WarGames, emerging victorious in a triple-threat match against Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley fr.wikipedia.org+2en.wikipedia.org+2de.wikipedia.org+2.
- Held it for 258 days, making it one of the longer modern U.S. title reigns fr.wikipedia.org+7espn.com+7fightful.com+7.
- Lost the championship on the August 11, 2023 edition of SmackDown, when Rey Mysterio won the title in an impromptu match
So Theory had his longest title reign when Triple H was in charge, not Vince. I don't know if he would've gotten much further even if Vince was there. He not on the same level as Roman or Seth or Cody or even vets like Punk and Cena or big size Vince type of guys like Gunther or Priest or Drew, or have the crowd charisma like a Jey or Sami. He may have been floundering in that midcard scene for all we know. Could he be a main event guy one day? Possibly, but I doubt there would've been much difference no matter who the booker was.
