Lazy arrogance

The awful SmackDown last night was sold out, so why should they feel the need to change anything? Just shyt out the same boring episodes and call it a day

Raw is watchable by default cause the roster is good and even then there’s massive flaws in what they’re doing over there

NXT is bad (to me) but at least they try to make shyt a little interesting

I was just talking to my friend about this and his theory is that Triple H's booking went downhill when he started listening to his critics. Everyone was on his case for being too predictable, so he started booking these big, shock value-type moments with no long-term plan. Now, the people who thought his booking was too predictable want him to start writing long-term stories again.

It makes sense if you look at the timeline because you get things like New Day's heel turn, Cena's heel turn, Seth aligning himself with Paul Heyman and forming a group, but what have we really gotten out of any of those things? New Day is as irrelevant as they've ever been, Cena lost half of his retirement year to this, Seth is way less interesting than he was a year ago. Naomi's heel turn is one of the few great things we've gotten lately, and part of that is because Naomi went above and beyond to make it work. Tiffany's been champion the entire year and has done nothing interesting. Top guys disappear for weeks on end. Certain guys had momentum and got cooled off. It's almost like Triple H is trying to incorporate more of Vince's style, but it doesn't work because he doesn't have the same crackhead mindset. 2023 and 2024 WWE felt must-see. Nothing this year is hitting the same spot outside of a few things.

Sadly, I didn't expect much out of the New Day heel run even after they were receiving those reactions but the Cena heel run is inexcusable. To turn your top babyface of the past 20 years heel and then have nothing planned for it and then turn him back face without an angle to do it? That's gross incompetence lol

I think what I hate the most about it is that you can tell they just decided to turn him back because someone (maybe Cena himself) said they needed to kill it ASAP. They could have had the face turn at SummerSlam for the big emotional moment at the end. Instead, two nights before, they just have Cena say he's not a bad guy anymore, him ruining wrestling was just a stupid joke, and he got over it. Like he's been on crack the last couple months and all he needed to do was sober up.

The match literally had no stakes after that. You couldn't have Cena fake it because his actual face turn wouldn't have any impact. You couldn't have Cody turn heel because it wouldn't make any sense. And you couldn't do anything else story-wise (like having Brock return to help Cody win) because you wrote yourself into a corner when you didn't need to. Not even Vince would do something that stupid.

I'm not even upset that Cena's face again because his heel run wasn't that good to begin with. But if they're going to make fun of how bad their writing is and pretend it didn't happen, they could have at least done it in a more interesting way.

It’s a shame that Rock really couldn’t make it work, because around this time last year, going into the Chamber, the Final Boss was on the cusp of being an all-time wrestling character. The megalomania, the deeply seated, visceral, and personal hatred for Rhodes -- territory that the character never explored before. The corruption of one of the biggest babyfaces in Cena -- all of it was some real cinematic stuff before Hollywood and corporate meddling ruined everything. :francis:

After watching NXT and this show, First thing i’d do after this is go shake up them stale ass Raw & SD announce teams.

When Vince first left they were on fire and had a new lease on life. They’ve fell off very bad since then.
