Nothing Dom has done since Wrestlemania has necessitated him being IC Champion since then. He was out of the ring for 2 months while champ living in backstage vortex and only defended the belt 5 times total. That hasn’t served him since he’s no more over than he was in April, it hasn’t served the midcard since they’ve been running in place instead of having something to fight for and it hasn’t served the belt, which increased in esteem since HHH took over and now back to what it was. So when the long reign harms a little in multiple ways, that makes up a cancer. I can type the same thing about Tiffany only she’s notably declined as a star while champion
5 times is actually a decent amount considering it’s only September

and dom is even more over now than he ever was and since defending his title those 5 times he’s being praised for his ring work and is even being featured in the triple A main event and winning a new title while holding IC

What’s funny is if you’re trying to compare his title reign to previous IC title reigns, like Gunther, then sure you can say the quality in IC has dropped. But what Gunther did is rare and it was a long title reign, which also proves title reigns in wwe aren’t cancer.

So apparently going through that person’s twitter who made the ESPN article

He has nothing bad to say about AEW & only said negative things about WWE

Even though the product is bad right now He knew what he was doing :unimpressed:

I know the writers preference for a certain style of wrestling and WWE not doing that
My point being if he shyts on every WWE show even if it's universally praised will only make him look bad. He can shyt on Wredtlepalooza because the majority agree it was atrocious, but if he pans a great show he'll be deemed a shill and won't be taken seriously.

Every time someone brings prestige back to a midcard title, they throw it away.
Happened with Cena and the US Title after his open challenge run.
Happened with The Miz after he made the IC Title relevant.
They have a history of doing this.
I don't even have to mention the tag team titles.

I agree.

I don’t think the IC has fallen off though. I’m enjoying Dom run.

The tag and us titles are dead at the moment.

It’s slipping my mind right now but there has to be some other great us title run. Cena open challlenge can’t be the last one. Right?

Tag titles haven't been relevant since The Usos had them.
I honestly can't remember the last memorable US Title run. LA Knight tried but he dropped the belt too quick.

It is terrible if there was a 2 month time skip in between title defenses. It did nothing positive for the IC belt to be on ice that long. I get it Seth rarely wrestles on tv as champ. They have plans, he’s passed his prime and injury prone. There’s no reason why Dom isn’t defending the IC title against someone tonight. Dom is over in Mexico and he’s AAA champ now, which makes even less sense to still be IC champ. Even if the long term plan is for Finn to cost him, Finn can cost him the AAA belt and it makes no difference.
