Literally saw someone on Twitter say they like HHH better than Vince, because even if there's no story they know the matches will be good:mjlol:. First off eliminating house shows has made so many wrestlers sloppy now, secondly the stories are why you want to see the matches. You think people would've cared about Stone Cold vs Vince & Shane if the "CEO of the WWE" storyline wasn't a part of the match? Bianca vs Becky is the GOAT women's Mania match because of the story that was being told, and all Cody had going for him was his bullshyt made up story.
That’s the whole point a lot of people are missing

You can’t sell a match solely on “well it’s going to be a great match” “it’s going to be a banger”

You need a interesting narrative to get people to watch

What makes a decent match good & makes a good match great is STORY

Shut up lol

Wrestling has always needed story or some type of character the crowds can relate to ..
Never said that's not necessary. But you can get them in the ring and have a match to tell that story of good vs bad.

The whole "CINEMA!!!" shyt has fried alot of people's brains....

That is not enough
Was enough for my GOAT, all he did was get in there and and create works of art through his great in ring work :wow:

If that was true AEW wouldn’t exist :russ:
It's not even just AEW. Look at NJPW and CMLL. They present wrestling like a sport, and their matches are very much storytelling based.

Two guys that are trying to be the best and fighting to see who's better is very much a story as old as time. shyt there is even storytelling in real sports :bryan:

If wrestling fans looked at it the same way, in ring storytelling would make complete sense to them. Problem is that most wrestling fans either don't watch sports or they have been conditioned to believe that wrestling cannot and should not be treated like a sport :francis:
