Bianca vs Becky is the GOAT women's Mania match because of the story that was being told, and all Cody had going for him was his bullshyt made up story.

That’s the whole point a lot of people are missing

You can’t sell a match solely on “well it’s going to be a great match” “it’s going to be a banger”

You need a interesting narrative to get people to watch

It's not even just AEW. Look at NJPW and CMLL. They present wrestling like a sport, and their matches are very much storytelling based.

Two guys that are trying to be the best and fighting to see who's better is very much a story as old as time. shyt there is even storytelling in real sports

If wrestling fans looked at it the same way, in ring storytelling would make complete sense to them. Problem is that most wrestling fans either don't watch sports or they have been conditioned to believe that wrestling cannot and should not be treated like a sport
