Austin was WAAAAY more entertaining even tho it was the wrong decision.

Cena or Trips or whomever's heart wasn't in it all the way which is a shame because at one point after Mania you had a landmark heel turn with Cena and on the other end you had Roman becoming an Austin level babyface. And add that to a slow Cody turn/character change plus CM Punk being the wild card face that could challenge all 3 and you could've had the hottest thing in entertainment imo. But Roman took off, Cena was limited by appearances and his "stable" falling apart, and Cody just came back.

Trips just doesn't have the vision for it sadly. I'll continue to say the product is better than Vince's at least before like 2004 but he still wants to keep a certain status quo for this business because there's no reason to go all out if fans are gonna pay thousands for tickets and tv companies give them a bag every half decade lol.

The thing is if Cena remained face people would still be bytching. Instead of enjoying what little time we got left with him I see posters bytching all the time that he’s not around enough, even though he’s around more than someone like Roman.

And then he’s just past his physical prime. There’s literally nothing can fix that and that’s why every match he’s in now is a gimmick match. It is what it is. Him being face or heel wouldn’t have changed that but an ingredient to people shytting on the heel turn.

Stone cold turning, the invasion angle, and everything in those years is shytty writing for the most part.

Cena heel run is just boring. It’s only getting the label WOAT heel run because of who he is and the significance of what it’s supposed to mean and what could have happened, with the rock involved.

I don’t want to get into if the rock was part of the plans or not, but either way HHH couldn’t creatively adapt in this situation.


And let me say i still think hhh is a better booker than the rest of the bookers out.

Someone told me this and I agree, HHH is falling in that same trap where Vince did, having hubris and being content with everything because business is a success.

This is why competition is important.

Yeah…in a few years when this Cena shyt is wrapped up and played out some deep dive podcasts will breakdown how trash this last run has been.

He’s for sure broken down from the grind. Cena is definitely not the same dude that was in the ring full time and that’s fine. We wasn’t expecting 5 star classics anyways but creative could have at least been on point for him to go out on.

It’s actually kind of wild they booking dude who carried this company this bad on his way out.

After a couple weeks, I was already over the Cena heel turn. It should have been one of the biggest moments in WWE history, but as it stands, it will just be a weird experiment. Cena's last year shouldn't have been spent being a heel. We know he's leaving, they spent thousands of dollars on "Last Time is Now" merchandise, the crowds came in ready to cheer him because they knew they wouldn't see him wrestle again. They planned out the tour in advance for the sake of the fans. What's the point in having him run down those same fans wearing his merchandise in every city he goes to?

His promo last night wasn't even bad, but if there's no swerve coming, then.....why? They could have saved it for next week.

The initial turn was fantastic. He was supposed to turn when he first came back, but they kept delaying it and when Roman left, Seth and Dean were asked if they still wanted to go through with it. They even turned Strowman back face because they didn't have a good guy to go up against Lesnar. The fact that nobody saw it coming is what made it work so well.

But everything after? Yeah, they literally drove Dean out of the WWE with how they handled it.

Austin joining Vince made sense storyline wise. He was out for a year and had to watch Rock take his spot and watch Triple H gain ground on him as well. On top of that he took a clean L to Triple H at No Way Out and now his confidence is shattered. He felt like had no choice but to join Vince to get his spot back at the top.

It was the SECOND heel turn at Invasion that was stupid and made no sense.
