A story can be told within a match through the moves though.Literally saw someone on Twitter say they like HHH better than Vince, because even if there's no story they know the matches will be good. First off eliminating house shows has made so many wrestlers sloppy now, secondly the stories are why you want to see the matches. You think people would've cared about Stone Cold vs Vince & Shane if the "CEO of the WWE" storyline wasn't a part of the match? Bianca vs Becky is the GOAT women's Mania match because of the story that was being told, and all Cody had going for him was his bullshyt made up story.

The difference is really just the booking, not necessarily a laziness epidemic, or something. Used to be that the shows before and after a PPV were the most important ones to watch in any given month, since the most shyt happened. Now, they're really not all that different than any other episode in most cases. Why bother having the big names on the show if there's little to nothing for them to do?
