Do you not see AEW actively trying to focus on storytelling now? They capped their growth trying to please Meltzer.
They might be now but there was a stretch where it was always wrestling first. Tony had Top Flight and Best Friends out there every fukking week just to hit spots :russ:

This is why I tell nikkas over and over and over

Wins and losses don’t matter

You could be winning for two years straight and still not matter and be an after thought by year 3

Dude broke away from judgement day to prosper just for judgment day to matter more than him

nikkas like Finn and jd lose a lot

Yep, and the most over act to come out of judgement day?

A Mexican nikka who was getting beat up by his bytch, lost 70% of his matches and was damn near a male valet for a year

Reaching success in wrestling is much more about connecting with an audience than it is picking up wins but there’s nikkas who been watching for 25+ years who still don’t understand this. It blows my mind.

This shyt is not real combat. It’s not a sport where winning is critical. It’s a traveling tv show.

Yes TF they do. And its too many examples that prove that: Goldberg, Ryback, Asuka, Bazler, Samoa Joe, Brock, etc.

Priest has had less than 10 televised matches this year and hasn’t done shyt relevant. That’s why he isn’t over.

If that was true AEW wouldn’t exist :russ:
AEW exists cause the owner is a die hard wrestling fan and had the money to support himself before he found substantial deals

TK had the ability to build a company out of nowhere and the allure was that wwe was really shytty at the time so this was the alternative

And what happened after they settled in?? After we saw every dream matchup we could see?

The average person, not the sickos, stopped caring…

I stopped caring about AEW when I would watch and asked dudes who certain wrestlers were and why should I care about them in AEW.. and sickos responses were always “we’ll do research and watch some of their matches outside of AEW”

I don’t get your point it still stands on what I said
