Trouble falling asleep after workout..

...I'm talking 6+ after.

4pm - get out of work
4:30 - hit the weights
6pm - home, post meal, protein shake
7:30 - shower, chill
9pm - :dead: hit the bed :ahh:
Midnight - in bed like :merchant:

Swear...every night after a work out. I feel tired, my body is tired almost like when you get so tired you can't fall asleep shyt. Brain feels like its going crazy, constant activity. Any sleep aids out there that I can take specifically for after workouts?

I use melatonin sometimes

I've used Animal PM and MP's Bulletproof. Both work well, I recommend the latter

Maybe you're watching tv or on the internet before bed? or could be a medical issue
I had issues sleeping for years, and it turned out to be tied into a medical issue

Meech - I'll check in to Melatonin too. As far as the medical issue, I can fall right to sleep on the days that I DON'T workout so maybe I can rule that out.

I got some research to do...

:whew: glad I don't have that problem. After a late night workout, I have a protein shake and then it's :dead: for me. Then again, I normally don't go to bed till about midnight anyway. Maybe another protein shake might help? :leon:

working out actually makes gets your blood flowing so thats not uncommon....thats why people work out in the mornings because its supposed to wake you up

Exercising later than 9am will guarantee that I don't sleep that night. Thank God I'm a morning person.

Or any caffeine earlier in the day? I wouldn't resort to melatonin just yet, most people treat it like a sleeping pill and don't use it correctly and end up screwing up their cycle more. If I lift really heavy, I get that deep deep, restful sleep.
