Troy ave will be gone in a year. He is alienating himself with his attitude towards modern ny hiphop. No one wants to hear that 50 cent style of rap anymore and the ones who do won't actually buy his shyt.
Weirdo rap taking over :blessed:

more swag less violence :blessed:
high fashion:blessed:
fukk black on black crime :blessed:

I'd be interested to know the names of any artists this website/sohh peeped early and was actually right about in the long run.

On top of that, he is trying to revive a played out era in rap. Only the oldheads want to revive that era.

Nope. Anybody with sense knew Drake was going to pop.....
dog, i saw the thread.

Bkgiggles was the first person on sohh to mention him. nikkas was shytting on her and him the WHOLE thread. I dont even fukk with Aubrey and i can admit that she was spot on with her call.

Time goes by and people become revisionist with the true history of things. Im sure i aint the only person on this website that saw that thread on sohh.

Nope. Anybody with sense knew Drake was going to pop. He had the right sound and look. Him cudi, wale, hamilton, miller, were ushering in a new type of rap. They just had to for kanye to break the ceiling. When kanye beat 50 it was over. Troy ave is trying to go backwards which is everything hip hop goes against. Its the music of the youth and there is no going back. Saying ave is going to blow is like saying a Rakim type rapper is going to blow in the lil john era.

Good analogy.
Black kids like that swag and trap shyt. They ain't going back to that super thug shyt of the early 00s because that has "boring" beats to them and it is "swagless" in the sense of making stale music.

:comeon: troy ave going backwards because he's a street nikka? do you think asap rocky is progressive? We went from swag rappers who weren't saying shyt but could rap they ass off like Fabolous to a nikka who don't rap about shyt either but is mediocre on the mic...That isn't backwards?

As much as yall like to hype up these 'progressive' rappers they gets minimal play in the hood, let's be clear, when you talk about it being 'over' you're talking about the mainstream

Only because of his comments. If random NY mixta

They were idiots like the people in this thread who say troy ave will blow. The streets do not have aura that they once have. In the 90 s a white pop star would have been shook hanging around rappers. Now you got Disney princess and white Canadians chilling in the cut with supposed street rappers. Its like nightmare on elm street when Nancy turned her back on Freddy. Street rappers have lost their ability to scare. There whole way life is turnin to dust like Freddy.
nikka shut up aint nobody reading all this dumb ish

Blame social media for killing all them fears. The 90s had Suge Knight type of dudes and ignorant ass rappers that were duped and indoctrinated by them

Those MC's you just named have no problem rapping on southern beats that bang in clubs. Troy ave will never be on that level because he wants to attempt to bring back that early 2000's sound. The dude hasn't even went gold yet but he feels he can speak on Kendrick? HA!. Just another bitter new yorker.

But see, that's why I fukk with Troy. He's stayin true to himself and ain't sounding like the average trap/swag rapper. He stayin true to the classic NY sound. What could possibly be wrong with that

I reckon he's dope, not fully sold on him but he's definitely got potential to keep going. Interested in what he brings to the table on the next go around.
