My boy got into driving gas trucks. He is with a better company now, but he got into this one only 2 months after starting with the 1st which sucked. You can make about 2k gross a week on 40hrs(m-f) with your proper certs. He says it's easy and no stress. He took a late 2-3am shift since traffic is nonexistent at that time and he is home early.

One of my other friends quit long hauls (team based) due to having visions of dying. He said going to sleep used to have him terrified in shytty weather, he expected to get killed from his partner's driving.

Yea I could believe it…

I got my CDL a while ago. When you tell people you’re a truck driver they automatically assume you’re making money and I’m like

:francis:

I mean it can be decent pay, but I think people be alluding to a certain time when truck drivers had more prestige and the paper to match, like the 1980s or something. That myth needs to die tho. Unless you’re an owner op with a small fleet you’re just doing ok. shyt is a headache and not really worth it
thanks for letting me know.

Trucking profits heavily dependent upon where you live.. If you say you can't make money in trucking, im 99% sure you live in a rural area in a flyover state..
yeah i said this before if you live in the south other than texas you're not really making any money but out here in chicago most drivers are making bread the problem is the mega carriers like swift, schneider,cr england, werner, pam and us xpress not really paying shyt so if you don't live in cali, houston, dallas, chicago or the northeast you not really making any money these mega carriers not paying shyt
