Lol okay now you're making the trolling too obvious. Also Ye's last good album was Fantasy. That was 13 years ago. Everything after has been mid or trash.

TLOP and depending on who you ask Yeezus was dope, just not classic

For me, it's the not being able to listen to Kanyes old shyt seriously.

Golddigger. I remember really liking that song at the time.

Then he goes and does the opposite of what he was rhyming about. The song is now an unfunny joke.

His iconic moment when he called out GWB on live TV. Made to look a little less dope when he ran up on Taylor Swift. Then, when he damn near jumped in Trump's lap.. that GWB moment is essentially erased. Not music related but still.

Nas, meanwhile is still Nas. Illmatic still applies. Every word of it is in line with his whole career and persona.

It's hard to award 2023 Ye the classics that were made by a whole different person, seemingly. The old Kanye has disappeared.

By The Way…

I don’t count the Magics & KDs of the world within a discrography because that’s just shyt Nas does messing around 15-20 years after his peak off of a major with no expectations

The KD series are not solidified as classic material yet. Maybe 1. Y’all just putting them in there because y’all are happy Nas came through and didn’t disappoint.

I’d say It’s close but Nas has 2 or 3 that are debatable. Across culture and within hip hop itself, Kanye does have more certified classic albums that are hard to dispute.

I think Nas has
Illmatic
It was written

That means there’s no debate by about 85% of the consensus

All his other projects, while great are debatable as to whether they’re actual classics outside of his stanbase.

It Was Written was a game changer in what sense?

No different than Jay, Kanye’s music, image & approach to music making has simply had a more direct impact on those that have followed

Look at Bad Boy in 1997. Biggie's album is sequenced in a similar manner to IWW. You got Puff sampling Sting for "I'll Be Missin You" as Nas sampled Sting for "The Message". The similarities between "Street Dreams" and "Hypnotize" and both are track 3 from both IWW and LAD respectively. It introduced The Firm and as a member of The Firm, Trackmasters used similar production on Foxy's Ill Na Na. Puff's No Way Out has production that is influenced by IWW. The same way Ready To Die influenced Nas to create IWW, the same way IWW influenced Biggie on LAD.

STILLmatic is an indisputable classic album. It’s got numerous all-time great records & conceptual pieces, plus the impact on the rap game was undeniable

A few weak tracks won’t discount that. Otherwise we’d have to discount a bunch of post golden age era classics including some of Kanye’s… ala College Dropout or 808’s
