Trump Administration Pulls $929 Million In Funding For California's High-Speed Rail

The Federal Railroad Administration announced Thursday that it terminated a 2010 agreement with the California High-Speed Rail Authority and will pull a nearly $929 million federal grant. In a release, the FRA said the California agency "repeatedly failed to comply with the terms of the FY10 agreement and has failed to make reasonable progress on the project." At the same time, the federal agency said, "California has abandoned its original vision of a high-speed passenger rail service connecting San Francisco and Los Angeles, which was essential to its applications for FRA grant funding." In addition, the FRA said it "continues to consider all options regarding the return of $2.5 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds awarded to CHSRA."

California is roughly the size of Japan. In Glorious Nippon, you can get from the very northern tip of the country to the very southern edge in a couple hours by their high speed train. You can go skiing on a frozen mountaintop and go swimming at a tropical beach on the same day, with a comfortable commute, and not go bankrupt doing it.

In California, "fukk you, welcome to Amtrak, no we haven't cleaned the seats lately. The Wifi is down, the food is bad, and you're trapped in this metal tube with a bunch of American pieces of shyt for the next twelve hours."

However, in Japan, you can't leave work until your boss does, and if he wants to go out drinking, you can't stop drinking until he does, and he's a pedophile who denies the Unit 731 atrocities, so it's a give and take. :yeshrug:

Remember where our money goes......

Texas Central Railway is Japanese company that is trying to build 90 minute high speed between Dallas and Houston, versus 3 1/2 hours by car. Unlike Califirnia, they are claiming they will use very little to no government money to build this.

Hyperloop is being studied all over the world right now. For cargo/freight it should be fine, but for passengers the safety aspects have to be worked out....

Man if I was a private investor and had the money I would fund it just to charge people and make so much money on the return... imagine a high speed rail line up and down the california coast?!?:wow: it just prints fukking cash... think about the businessmen who would pay and arm and a leg for first class seating. dining hall. families traveling to see their other families...
