I disagree with this. My younger sibling went to MIT and my older sister attened Columbia.

Black kids DO get those test scores...these white ivy league institutions pass them up all the time.

I'm sick of this idea perpetuated that Black people in America don't test high when it comes to the SATs or the BAR or whatever...we do. We just get passed up at a rate higher than everyone else.

Why are almost all of these ivy league institutions almost always 90% plus WHITE students? Cause ivy league/academia is the HEIGHT of racism and keeping the status quo the status quo. Once upon a time, only white people could attend these universities. They were restricted to everyone else. Even though things have changed, that mentality has stayed the same in each of those institutions.

They let white boys and Asians retake tests and quizzes as many times as they want in grade school too

I went to summer school for a year and watched a white girl cry herself into a passing grade with one single crocodile tear. I watched the teacher bump the failing grade up on the computer

It was meant for black folks as in ADOS.

Some of the GREATEST Black activists of that era had immigrant roots. W.E.B. DuBois was Bahamas/Haitian on his father's side and from free Black (free since the Revolution) on his mother's side. Marcus Garvey was from Jamaica. Malcolm X's mom was from Grenada. Stokely Carmichael was from Trinidad. Louis Farrakhan's parents were from St. Kitts and Jamaica. Shirley Chisholm's parents were from Barbados. You could go into the arts too, many of the most renowned Black artists and entertainers of the era - James Johnson, Claude McKay, Harry Belafonte, Sidney Poitier - they were all immigrants or the children of immigrants.

Even if you were ignorant of that era, many of the most famous Black folk of our own era - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Floyd Mayweather, Busta Rhymes, Colin Powell, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Mike Tyson, and dozens more - are descended from immigrants who came here well before 1965.

Trying to claim that the Civil Rights Movement was for #ADOS only is pure ignorant shyt.
