I really hate to do this... but it was the Dems that really did that. There is nothing that Trump said we needed to do that the Dems didn't vilify at one point only to end up doing themselves. The left were literally the anti-vaxxers up until Inauguration Day. He definitely said some silly things during those daily Covid pressers, and the left used that to dissuade the masses from believing there were competent people developing a solution. They made it seem like Trump was cooking up the vaccine in his personal crockpot. He was also hesitant to just print money because he was conscious of the long-term economic ramifications-- now look at where we are with historic levels of inflation. Although most countries "failed" in their own way as well-- the issues here in the US can't be laid at the feet of one man. Remember when the Cuomos were heroes in the early days? Where are they now? Andrew was writing books about how he "beat" the virus

We have to be more nuanced in how we analyze these things-- that's the real power the media and politicians have over the general population. They rely on people being unable to sift through the glut of information dumped on us everyday. Notice how the border/immigration crisis (kids in cages) doesn't seem to be the humanitarian crisis it was during the election? Nothing has changed on that front-- it's just not in the headlines; so it's out of sight out of mind. Now we're pivoting back to January 6th.
