Department of education and teachers in general are underfunded tf are you talking about. Teachers essentially have to obtain a masters degree to only make 40-50k a year, instead of putting 900 billion a year in defense this should be going to education. We only spend 4% of our budget on education
@the cac mamba is white and supports the defunding of young black childrens education….its really that simple :unimpressed:

With access to the internet, there is no excuse for our people to be so ignorant about these issues. All of these responses on this thread by people who act like it is already done. He needs Congress to approve this. He does not have the Republican numbers to do it. He needs Democratic votes to accomplish this. Unfortunately for you true blue believers, the Democrats have been ready and willing to hand him the votes he needs for previoius issues. So, lets see if they do their job and stop him, or come up with another excuse for why they had to vote for his policy.

I hope the former happens, but I will not be surpised if the latter happens. I am no longer surpised by the Democratic Leadership's willingness to lose.
He's not closing the department (he can't); he's sabotaging it so that it's effectively useless by stripping it of staff, cutting oversight, and bringing in a bunch of right-wing operatives to reshape whatever remains. Y'all are so stuck on "See! He can't do this! Look at the Constitution!" that you're missing the actual play. He doesn't *have* to formally abolish it when he can rip out its soul and keep the hollow shell around as a glorified rubber stamp for his agenda.

And you're acting like he needs a full congressional repeal for this to be devastating when he doesn't. He's already gutting the department through executive action, and Republicans in Congress *aren't* stopping him because they *want* this. They have the power to check him, but why would they when he's already achieving their goal without them having to lift a finger? They will NEVER take this up in congress, because they don't need a formal repeal when they can just sit back and let him burn it down piece by piece.

It's funny how you're only criticizing Democrats here when Republicans control the House and Senate and Trump is doing all of this using his executive power. It's almost like it hurts some of you to be honest about what's actually happening.

Vocational schools pushed in certain neighborhoods, STEM in others. Hard line color coded class structure, the "greatness" of America as they see it will be restored. After all they only want the brightest & best, how can you be the brightest & best if you don't have access to the best education?

The election was tampered with. But all the same, 'Murica showed they natural cracker ass by overlooking the obviously more qualified candidate.
I'm sorry but I see it differently. :yeshrug: Republicans were clear what they wanted to do and Project 2025 was not a secret. Prior to Biden dropping out he was not campaigning much while Trump was constantly hitting the pavement. After Kamala was nominated, her campaign was not much different. It was the media that was really pushing her. In other words, Dems knew what was in store and still operated like it was business as usually. I tell people you can't blame the dog biting someone if the neighbor didn't have it on a leash.

Think bigger. The system was bigger problem. The more qualified candidate was one of the first to drop out in the DNC race in 2020. People had to choose between two people they didn't want. Dem voters had absolutely no choice.

A lot of you all are laughing at red states. The red state elites (who control the party) will be fine in their private schools. Even better, the government can't track and punish them for outright segregating the few Blacks out.

Backwoods White people will get a worse education but if they aren't going to fight for education like they do for guns (and we are guilty of the same often) do you think they will hit back at the people that are doing this? If schools slow segregate they may even overlook Johnny being unable to read or do fractions.
"Just move to a blue state" was always goofy. Black students in red states need people to fight for their school systems and people on their school boards to directly influence school policy.

it's unfortunate that the Democrats have created a culture where government jobs and departments are completely unaccountable, and people just shrug at trash results. the DOE's results are objectively embarrassing, but you'll never catch a Democrat talking about accountability when they're in power
this is the other extreme :yeshrug:

but i thought trump can't actually do this, and he's just bluffing. i guess we'll find out
Seriously....... in all seriousness........ why are you here?! Like legit how do you feel you need to be here instead of somewhere with others like yourself?

If you lived in Alabama or Tennessee or Oklahoma prior to Trump, and they couldn't improve themselves from then, you gotta chalk up that 'L' and realize that those areas are failed states of human civilization. Basically the Christian version of the Taliban.

Let's keep it 100 the red states are going to suffer the most from this. If you live in a republican state and you have kids, you better have money for private school or get activated to vote in progressives to run your school district and vote in the midterms to flip your state. Otherwise pack up your shyt and move to a blue state.

Which means it's effectively a giant fukk you to black kids. Some poor whites will be casualties but, many middle-class and rich whites will put their kids in better schools while black families with few resources will be screwed.
