Back in January, If Trump had got on TV saying he was shutting down America, instituting a quarantine and lockdown because of a virus in China...how would people react? Taking into consideration people already see him as diet-Hitler and taking into consideration that the World Health Organization also said this:

Easy. Talking heads on MSNBC, CNN, etc. would have called him a dictator.

Trump fumbled on this issue early. But, the media also fumbled.

as time goes on, his legacy will be known in the same vein as Pol Pot, Mussolini, Stalin, Idi Amin, Hitler, and King Leopold.

So why are we acting like this is normal?

Why are we acting like a President can just let thousands of people die on his watch and just say "No. I don't take responsibility at all?"

Everybody around the world is looking at this country in horror right now...but Murica gon Murica so no one is taking it seriously.

they initially said "we good" though. So IN JANUARY how would people have reacted to trump saying he's locking down America and quarantines, while the WHO was saying it wasn't a big deal? We all consider dude Hitler JR....how would people have reacted to what sounds like some holocaust camp shyt based on a "Chinese virus" that WHO wasn't even worried about?

Oh they would of freaked out. without a doubt.

I just think it's weird how people are just accepting this....we don't even have the type of leader that can even give of some peace of mind or can reassure us about anything in this crisis. We have someone who just fills us with more dread and anxiety that makes matters worse...who doesn't even care about our lives.

I'm 35 years old. I lived through Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush Jr, and Obama. Even during 9/11 Bush did not act as badly as Trump has...and atleast tried to be a leader. Trump can't do that cause all he can do is think about himself.

If CNN is truly a global news network, they would have reported on the happenings in China throughout their non-stop broadcasts in the early period of the outbreak.

Yet, all we got was non-stop coverage on Trump-Putin-Ukraine.

Trump’s response to the virus should be scrutinized for sure. But, we really need to also scrutinize the function of mainstream “news” currently.

Are these networks simply tools of their respective political overlords? Or are they obligated to report on pertinent news that may impact American citizens?

Like TLR seemingly has a collective inability to call this guy out on his bullshyt even when lives are at stake.
Now we're in a crisis that....but the DEmocrats are racist too, they give illegal immigrants x y and z, the lgbtqa, type of deflection holds no wait cause this mess is almost 100% on the Republicans except for the origins of the Coronavirus itself.

Its almost as if people are shook to call Trump out on here cause they don't want them three letter boys coming to they crib.

I don't like the way he has handled a lot of this, and did not like he way he was handling the pressers.

My issue is people putting all of this blame on him, when he was called racist for closing travel to and from China by the same people that are now crying he hasn't done enough. Those same people that take the WHO as gospel, except when the WHO said there was no proof this transmits by contact. It's only been a few months, but it's revisionist history by many in the media.

Yeah he's not responsible for the Coronavirus I agree. or everything that's happened. But he does need to take responsibility or accountability for his actions (or lack thereof) that made this situation worse.
