I agree. A friend of mine I worked with graduated from Benedict College in the late 60's. I watched him every year write a check to Benedict for $12,500. Thing about HBCUs though is a lot of our top scholars are choosing to go the PWI route now and giving money to those institutions. We also have this sort of thing among blacks.

i can't wait to see trump's new budget proposal since the military budget is going up by $50b and he said that will be offset by cuts elsewhere. will pell grant award money go up, will there be less support for govt subsidized stafford loans? the vast majority of HBCU students get pell grants and stafford loans. i'm very interested to see the results of this photo op. more about the student or the administration? i know obama didn't have a lot of love for some of these HBCU administrations.

The coli and internet nikkas in general are some of the most naysaying useless people you'll come across. They act, ironically, just like the Republicans who spent 8+ years shytting on the ACA with no alternate proposal. So they'll shyt on you, ask what Trump's done in 30 days yet can't cite what Obama's done in 8 years to help HBCU's. Most HBCU presidents will tell you it's been a mixed bag from Obama. And if they're able to get Trump to do something this early in his presidency that they couldn't get Obama to do in two terms, then we're off to a good start.
Black folk need to wake the fukk up. We're in a different dynamic. Obama treated us like he had us in his back pocket, Trump, so far, is treating us like he needs to earn our support. And he has Congress behind him right now, we gotta be tryna get all that we can. You work with the President of the US because he's the President of the US, regardless of how you feel about his viewpoints on other issues. We have to stop calling people working with him c00ns. Your righteous proclamations from the internet accomplish NOTHING. You think other special interests (big oil, banks, pharma, etc) go into this bytch mode when their candidates lose? Hell no. They still try to push their agendas through and make note of who's helpful and who's not so they can act accordingly come election time.
