What @AnonymityX1000 said. Mamdani becoming mayor of the financial center of the country becomes a threat. They don't want more Mamdani's popping up nationwide which is absolutely the next step. Obama was that candidate for me, but he folded. I get why he did, because we're not the country who completely lived up to the promises of what this country is, but at that point he should've crashed out. To your point, Obama and Trump are similar in that vain. Trump chose to crash out, and here we are.
