The Asian model minority label has served them well and by adding Nigerians to the list in a country with native/dos black Americans — White people knew what they were doing.

And yes.. some Nigerians — whether they admitted it or not — liked be added to the model minority list over black americans.

I'm glad you can point out complexities props but also people need to understand that immigrants have a home base and that they are probably more concerned about foreign policy more than the average citizen. People are willing to overlook a bad domestic agenda if their country of origin will benefit from good foreign policy. Some people like George W Bush because of the finances he made available for fighting AIDS in Africa. I say this to say that generalization are never good and in depth analysis is needed but I think Trump has proven to repulsive to everyone.

Nigerian are extremely arrogant and proud people they don't need validation. Nigeria has no constant supply of electricity, endemic corruption, abject poverty, terrorist problems with Boko Haram in North but they still walk around proud as hell and basically I refer to them as the New Yorkers of Africa or the giants of Africa. Trust they do not lead any validation from anybody or to be added to a list. I lived and worked there for a year and visited plenty of time that's the sense that I got.
