Fair point on the disconnect. I am not going to lie and say I have not heard disparaging things about AAs within African circles. However, those immigrants come here for purely economic reasons and their countries are too shyt for them to think about solidarity in the US. Some of those African countries and their citizens are totally dependent on the relatives they have abroad to send them back money that's why money transfers companies such as Western Union and MoneyGram are still profitable because mostly of immigrants from the third world sending back money back home in essentially failed states.

However, the lack of solidarity is a lot more inexcusable for those who are born and raised here spent all of their lives here and have a full understanding of the racial dynamics in American society. Both my parents were housekeepers at a hotel all their lives here in America, they didn't give a shyt about solidarity. All they cared about is making some little money (here in the US) that would so far back home in their country of origin.

Yea man not too many of us in the United States. Most Congolese in North America are in Montreal (it's French speaking) so it makes sense in terms of assimilation but most go to Europe, (France and Belgium specifically).

The thing is — Black America has solidarity when it comes down to it. It may not appear like it — we may not know how to mobilize it properly — but we have it.

We stick together and have our own community/culture — that even immigrants and even whites/others try to engage and be apart of daily.

If Black America was able to separate ourselves and get our “tribe” on code and not worry about others dipping in or trying to be apart of — we can get some things together.

We are closer to that more than ever now.
