Why do a i give a shyt what a 60 yo Cac thinks about me. I don't care if he got here because a thot sucked him off. The point is we have a Republican president speaking about criminal Justice Reform actually with the Democrats

I think you missed the point of what I was saying

If these “Prison Reform” conversations end the same way as his #1 political promise (build the wall) then nothing is going to happen. And all of this “wow I care because he might make some changes” is actually just bullshyt lip service meant to make people think he cares.

But we will see :manny: I hope I’m wrong. But if he didn’t deliver on the promises he made to HIS voters, I wouldn’t hold my breath thinking he is going to deliver on measures that his opposers think are important

He did sign the First Step Act into law.

Obama had an obstructive congress for most of his presidency so Trump has more leeway to do prison reform. More power to him if he doing it for ego.
The first step act had veto proof majorities in both chambers. It was going to become law with or without his signature. Trump was irrelevant. He deserves no praise.

---

Anyone seriously believing Trump is a champion for criminal justice reform is fooling themselves or have an agenda (the OP of this thread). You only have to look at his DoJ and his federal court appointees for yourself to see that he doesn't care.

I understand what you are saying. But my thing is that there is a legit conversation going on, on both sides. That's huge. To have AOC & Trump on somewhat the same page is promising. I don't think having a cynical attitude just because it's Trump helps. I've gotten like 10 negs off the simple fact this is a Trump post . This is called the first step act. This shows there is progress to be made. It's up to us the voters to communicate with our reps what we are looking for when it comes to reforms.

:gucci: the only reason this is front and center is because of the Trump administration. The Trump administration helped write the first step act. Why would he VETO it?

If you think Trump actually cares about anything other than his money and his ego, I'd wager that you are wrong.:yeshrug:

I think he literally just does shyt to say he can do it and use it as an ego boost/leverage point for his campaign/legacy. Does he care about the humanitarian aspect of prison reform... hell no. Does he care that he can use the buzzwords "prison reform" when campaigning to Black Americans, absolutely.

This is the problem.

Yall want politicians to "care" instead of delivering tangible policy changes.

Your parents and spouses need to "care". Politicians don't need to do anything but deliver.

Black people, please take your FEELINGS out of politics. They've been using it to hold us hostage for much too long

when you're more concerned with who's offering a solution to your problem than trying to solve your problem, then either that problem isn't as dire as you're claiming OR it's not a priority as you're claiming
Waiting for your ideal politician to be in office before you're willing to discuss your issues? first world problems and luxury

Exactly. People are so caught up in this CNN Fox news beef that they are putting their own lives on the back burner.

Its so much tap dancing for massa Trump around here for something he had no part in. He sat on his fat ass and signed a bill that passed Congress with a veto proof majority. Meaning it was passing even if he didn't sign it.

I really don't know if nikkas are uninformed or they are trying to recruit for Trump but y'all gots to get smarter. Yall fall for every trick.

They didn't help write shyt. Stop spreading this propaganda. The proposal predates the Trump administration. His role doesn't matter here.

You know McConnell blocked this proposal back then, right?

The fact the Breh had the largest majority in Congress in recent memory to only push healthcare to pad his legacy just for it to be damn near dismantled one year into the following administration has to hurt them:wow:. Imagine if his main focus was prison reform in 2009. Such a missed opportunity:mjcry:

How come we never got prison reform until now?

It happened under Trump’s presidency, that’s a fact. He signed the bill, that’s a fact. Democrats and republicans come together under him to get it done, that’s a fact.
