what if they....do the right thing and campaign on the same thing, and mean ithe's gonna frame himself as the anti-war candidate for 2020. And the Dems aren't going to know how to deal.

Stroke of geniusI think even Bernie will struggle to deal, because he will argue he is not a naive peacenik, and they has used force when necessary.

"Strategic exit"There is no exit that doesnt leave the kurds hanging... The not betraying our allies/containing putin crowd is pushing for perpetual war knowingly or unknowingly.
goodYeah, Bernie's votes are right there for all to see. Iraq really is the only big intervention he's been against and he's voted for a lot of military Keynesian spending for Vermont.

Yep this is why you have to be careful about getting into armed conflicts. You usually end up making promises to get allies in the region that can lock you in for years. And if you violate those promises good luck getting backers the next time you need help or intel. We had a pretty safe for us, low cost strategy to keep Iran and Russia contained.some of you dudes acting real simple minded. i don't think anyone is saying we should keep a large military presence in syria long term. what i see happening is people pointing out the highly questionable nature and timing of withdrawing now.
the when, how, and why matters in a decision like this. just a week ago the strategy was to keep troops there for the foreseeable future while working on a longer term strategic exit. then erdogan calls cheeto hotline and all of sudden he does a 180 from strategy they just began executing. against the advice of his sec of defense and other top intel/military leaders. that doesn't come off the least bit shady to the junior varsity trumpset cheerleaders here?
everyone should be very skeptical of cheeto taking orders from erdogan (putin) on middle east strategy. who's really in charge here and do they have the best interest of the us in mind?![]()
Kurds are basically insurgents that the USA used. We dont owe them anything.![]()
You need to read what you just wrote and think about the contradiction

I know what I wrote. The USA uses and dumps groups like that all the time. They're just another one.
