Look at this thread closely, anybody who came in here and said anything positive about Robert E. Lee is a racist cac plain and simple. Notice these people try to extol the so called virtues of this slave owning piece of shyt while omitting that he was a racist slave owning piece of shyt which makes any other traits null and void.

He was a racist who owned slaves and led armies in defense of slavery and is the ultimate traitor to the U.S. Anything positive posted about him here is straight cac agent attempts at misdirection and confusion.

Lee and stonewall had their strategic faults but they were great combat generals and did the most with less. The union was struggling for a minute until Lincoln got some real ones in control.

That being said id piss on his grave if i could

Let NBC manipulate your emotions, brehs

1. Robert E. Lee was Lincoln’s first choice to lead the Union. (Lincoln thought he was a great general)

2.
Civil War had nothing to do with the morality of freeing slaves

Where the fukk do you nikkas live where even the idea that robert e lee was a good guy is accepted
You know that saying, "history is written by the victors?" The U.S. Civil War is an exception to that, especially where the South is concerned.

Lost Cause of the Confederacy - Wikipedia

After Reconstruction, Confederate leaders were allowed to return to power in the South and white supremacists began pushing skewed narratives of the Civil War. Slavery is downplayed in its importance and the whole idea that the war was about some vague concept of "state's rights" rather than the Confederacy fighting to own people begins. And because of that, Confederate leaders and generals like Lee are made out to be brave and noble men just trying to protect their homes from invasion. In reality, Lee owned slaves, supported the institution of slavery, and invaded the Union twice, but no one pushing this Lost Cause bullshyt ever points any of that out.

The Union fukked up by not executing the traitors the second the war was over and eventually allowing them back into power. Now we have entire generations of people who not only don't understand how the war began, but are happy to buy into racially-biased histories of the war that glorify the Confederacy.

being from up north and moving south, its just so odd for me to see Confederate names everywhere and people bigging up Robert E Lee

like we used to laugh in history class at how the North destroyed the south and how the Confederacy was a bunch of bums:heh:
