NIL hasn’t leveled the playing field at all, it’s made it even more imbalanced. Ohio State spent $20Ms on transfers last year, Texas is saying they have a “$40M roster”, most programs can’t come close to competing with that
But it did. All the perks Alabama used to be able to give to players disappeared.

Yes. And it’s not just endorsements, it’s direct payment from boosters associated with programs under “collectives” that are also a part of the program

You think college players going to the highest bidder is good for college football?

How is it bad? It’s been that way for the most part for the last 25 years easily

So a historically blue blood program won another championship…. :jbhmm:

Let me clarify: Players should be able to earn endorsements (I don’t believe they should have a cap on their earnings there), but there should be a hard cap on what a player can earn from boosters, collectives and universities
let the market sort it out

if college football generates similar revenue numbers to NFL, the kids deserve to get paid like NFL players

Just adjust the transfer portal. You get one unrestricted transfer and the rest have to be out of conference unless your coach leaves or gets fired…. They can still get paid what the market allows, just structure it more into legit marketing/brand deals.

This is a correction for the NCAA trying to be slaverunners and punishing black athletes for accepting a short stack of pancakes from a a fan at IHOP
