Good luck getting dems who have a net worth of over 1m to give a shyt.
They low key love this because:
1. It guarantees a stream of donations from people who think that they'll actually do anything.
2. They have shares in the companies that can survive the tariffs. The tariffs will destroy smaller companies that can't pay the tariffs and who don't have brands strong enough for people to be willing to spend the extra money. The weakened competitors will be bought up by the bigger companies(for example, think of Intel with a market cap of 130.2b merging with AMD which has a market cap of 232b to survive, then being bought by Nvidia which has a market cap of 3.9 TRILLION. For additional perspective, Nvidia's revenue in 2025 so far has been 130.5 billion, which you might notice is higher than what intel is worth)
If you are a politician of any party, then you're earning 6 figures from your salary on top of any speaking fees or book sales. Your net worth is increasing because if you have money in a company like nvidia, these tariffs will raise the share price as its competition gets hollowed out. When Nvidia buys its competition, their market cap will increase by potentially another 1 or more TRILLION.
An experienced democratic congressman can literally just leave if they sense that things are getting too hot for them. They can liquidate some of their assets, buy citizenship through an investor program. There are zero consequences for incompetence from their part because:
A. They aren't the incumbent government
B. What the fukk are you going to do about it if you don't like what they're doing?
Focus on the politicians in your district. Those ones ARE more energized to fight this shyt because a lot of them can't just follow the joe mancin or kirsten sinema sell out path. Many of them aren't millionaires. Many of them are actually risking something by running for office and aren't out of town.
