Idk about that. If car companies do bring jobs home, won't China and other countries just raise the price on other commodities to compensate?
Also the article says Bernie and Trumps plans are similar, so why not vote for Bernie in that regard?
I support Bernie. I'm only rooting for Trump during the primaries hoping along the way, he can destroy the Republican party. As far as trade, NAFTA, PPP, and other trade agreements have been hurtful towards American workers. We have lost a lot of jobs because of these trade agreements and despite favorable trade deals for our multi-nationals, they don't even want to pay taxes on the profits that they have made overseas.
Yeah, China and the rest can impose their own tariffs on American goods and services, but as the article states, we should be producing most of our products here in the U.S for domestic consumption anyway. As the worlds biggest consumer, the US has a lot of leverage. We can use that leverage to get better trade deals than the ones currently in place. They need us more than we need them.
