All that progress.

GONE.

Your girl ended up against it too lol. See the problem I have with your side is that for the most part the leaders are politically brain dead. Just fukking stupid. For all of the benefits that TPP would've brought, why insist on all of the privacy? All that did was allow those against it to demogague the issue in a way that pro-TPP people couldn't respond.

This is one of my major concerns with allowing the centrist wing to take back power within the party. They don't know how to win for shyt and have zero political instincts.

it had to be private because once too many hands get in the pot, rubes would fukk the deal up

sometimes, the experts just gotta work unencumbered.

Hillary was more like "ill review it" btw

The biggest issue with TPP was these corporations having closed door meetings on deals and negotiations regarding TPP and not know what exactly the details in the deal.

Both Bernie progressives and Trump supporters were against the deal for different reasons but nonetheless did not want to get hoe'd again like NAFTA did American workers.

there clearly was a good reason for it...idiots don't know that they're the least important part of the negotiations and end up fukking themselves over in the long haul

The experts gotta work without laymen chiming in.

And this is the result.

I read that article this morning.
Those farmers fukked themselves completely.
Soon we will all be paying $2 for an ear of corn

USA! USA! uSA!
I think its the opposite, prices will likely plummet even more.
The only thing keeping prices as high as they are now are government subsidies, and the literal federal government purchase and destruction of large amounts of produce.
I say let the floor fall out from under them, and open up instantaneous food-trade agreements with countries that have less agriculture space, or quickly growing populations.
India, the Maghreb region, and Venezuela are all open, or should be.
Be a pseudo-humanitarian super-power and make it rain food internationally to garner support.

I understand that's the argument that pro TPP people made. The problem is that it's a fukking stupid one to make. In a political climate where voters are pushing up against giving full reigns to the "establishment" or so called "experts" the best argument they could come up with was "trust me, you can't see it but I promise it will be to your benefit!"

I'm all for a more technocratic influence in our politics but we still have to play the game.

I feel like this in combination with the lack of immigrant labor will equal $2 corn.

I hope your way is what happens, I just doubt it. Somehow taxpayers will bail out these massive corporate farms, reasonable deals won't be struck for import (cause MAGA and fukk brown people and foreigns ) and we still end up with $2 corn.

TPP is crony capitalist, anyone against pulling out of it is a corporatist shill.

But based on the facts in the article the "corporatist shills" were on the right side of this issue.

In any event Trump needs to focus on a globalized trade deal that doesn't get us left behind while other countries economies move forward

These big corporations and banks lost the privilege to be trusted. Until they gain that I don't like back door meetings with them invovled while no one else knows whats going on.
