Hold up, instead of getting caught up in emotional contextualizations based on preconceptions, how about engaging in critical analysis of the article and the information its seeking to convey.

It's fair to assume if black women are getting hit, black men are getting hit.

We also know that black men have a hire unemployment rate than black women

My argument is this 1) I don’t think black women is the only demographic that loss jobs. We know they been faking the numbers.

It fits the narrative that they want to promote to the racist MAGA base that they are hurting black women (and black people) so they are being honest with those numbers and fixing the books on everyone else.

That’s my argument. I use to be in recruitment so I know hiring. On one hand the job market is stagnant, and we see layoffs for everybody, but now they are saying only black women lost jobs? It’s a two sided lie. One is to make it seem like there are jobs out there and the other is to make racist feel ok with the fact there are not jobs out there.

anyway, i looked it up, note that march's stats are presented differently and also count teenagers of both sexes

- March: African American Men and Teenagers added 90,000 jobs.
- April: African American Men added 48,000 jobs in April and saw their unemployed drop by 55,000.
- May: African American Men lost 48,000 jobs in May and saw their number of unemployed drop by 47,000.
- June: African American Men lost 117,000 jobs in June and saw their number of unemployed increase by 181,000.
- July: African American Men lost 129,000 jobs in July and saw their number of unemployed increase by 2,000.

so ~156k jobs lost for BM give or take a few for the march anomaly, BW have been hit twice as hard

Like I said either they are lying about everyone and only highlighting black women to make their racist base feel empowered OR they are hyping black women’s job lost to make everyone think it’s worst compared to the overall lost of everyone else.

I would bet it’s the former more than the latter. The black women who lost jobs in the fed moved to state and city jobs and basically put downward pressure on every other group in government jobs. Government jobs at all levels haven’t been this competitive since around 2014-2015 when Obama had the economy buzzing. However, we have seen layoffs across the board in several agencies.

No matter how you cut it though there is NO evidence that only black women are seeing massive job losses. It’s everybody. A post above me did the math and it looks like over 100,000 black men lost jobs too. If you do the math I bet every group lost jobs based on the data they wasn’t fixings. MAGA just see black women as a group they can highlight to racist/sexist idiots to convince them their own suffering is worth it.

i was using the same data source as the new york times to come up with that number (bls economic releases)

i ran the math on BW too to make sure the article wasn't capping, the stats presented there panned out so i didn't bother running them on ww/wm
