Good thread, but how has it gone 7 pages and no one has mentioned Nikki Haley. I thought she was angling for the spot, and she seems like the kind of person Trump would pick. Am I missing something here?

(I mean, I know she slammed Trump and all, but the lure of power makes all that shyt go away - at least 60-70% of the Republicans who slammed Trump will be enthusiastically backing him in November. That does make her an even better candidate for Rubio or maybe Cruz.)

Though that Martinez woman might be a strong candidate. I'd never heard of her.

It's gonna be Arapaio and it will be the first sign of the apocalypse :sadcam:

Holy crap, that's the most joking/serious one on the thread. On one hand there's no chance, on the other hand we're talking about a world in which Donald Trump is the Republican candidate for President....

:russ:

Could you even say that he isn't as much or more qualified for VP than Trump is for president? :ohhh:

The thing is if you go with an establishment guy then you have to pick an older one at the end of their career. No younger one is going to do it because if they lose they will forever be tainted as the "Trump VP" and their career will be over. I think that eliminates someone like Marco Rubio who would otherwise be a great pick. Marco will run for Governor of Florida in 2018 if this doesn't work out for him. Kasich might as well run for Ohio Gov again. Brian Sandoval will be the likely GOP nominee in 2024.

Here's some unestablishment guys:

Joe Scarborough - former four time congressman from Florida and host of Morning Joe

Mark Cuban - billionaire businessman

Arnold Schwarzenegger - actor, body builder and former two time Governor of California

Jesse Ventura - wrestler and former Governor of Minnesota

Scott Brown - former Senator from Massachusetts

These are a bit more long shots:

Nikki Haley - current Governor of South Carolina - would probably end her political career if they lost

Jorge Perez - billionaire businessman, Chair of Related Group - Good friend of Trump but a registered Democrat

the black cat is my crown...
arnold schwarzenegger can't be the vp pick, he's not a natural born u.s. citizen..... instead, let's go with donald sterling.... look, if palin is busy and can't accept the vp nom, then sterling is the next most logical choice... donald & donald will make america white again..... err, i mean great.....

She endorsed Rubio in the SC primary and she seems to be locked into the GOP Establishment to the point I don't see her breaking ties to go ride with Trump when it is not a guarantee he will win the general.
Haley is playing the long game.

I still don't see him winning (I see Rubio/Kaisich as the eventual ticket), but if he does then Haley will be the obvious choice.

My gut tells me he will go anti-establishment, neutral personality like Ben Carson.

I could see a wildcard pick like Giuliani.

He needs an experienced policy maker to make up for lack of experience like Obama had with Biden. Someone not too controversial. Doubt Kasich would work with him, but Kasich is probably the best bet, especially to get Ohio. Establishment moderate with experience unlike Robot Rubio.

trump hinted his VP is gonna be an "insider". who could it be? :jbhmm:

with all the reagan parallels we always here with Trump, i could see him doing what reagan did when reagan got Bush. Bush was a senator, representative, the head CIA director, an ambassador. basically completely experienced.

probably chris christie

wouldn't be mad at that

im pretty sure its gonna be a borderline "establishment" dude just to keep the GOP from trying to fukk him over throughout his presidency. would be a smart move.

sarah palin would be cool just for laughs

what i know for sure is he is about to make hillary his bytch
