TRUTH: 50 cent has made NO real contributions to hip-hop musically or artistically.

he fell off something major but between 03 and 05 he just dropped too much heat.:manny:
He dropped heat, but let's be honest with ourselves. I agree with you BTW, 50 and G-Unit flooded the market with product, with mixtapes, with features, was everywhere. Them and Dipset were the lat real crews repping NYC rap in the 00s.

Lyrically does he come close to anybody in the game past or present?
Does he come close with Em?
Jay?
Nas?
Rakim?
Z-Ro?
Twista?
Biggie?
Pac?

Content wise?
Does he come close?

What's the legacy of G-Unit now?
What's his legacy at the end of the day as an artist? That's what I'm talking about. IMO, he's just as much of an artist as Nelly is. As in he knew how to make hits.

His mixtapes were more vehicles for beefs than anything else.
As an MC, did he really outshine or body anybody on most of his tracks? He did...but for some reason as a rapper as an artist I'm not seeing what others are seeing anymore.

I would hate to call 50s music a fad cause he had the right package going, but his music got stale. Which leads me to believe the hype of 50 as an artist was manufactured.

Simple rhyme schemes
Sing songy flows that he took from ja that he made his
He was making them thug anthems that hustla musick
But where does this music put him now?

50 inlfuneced the entire country. had nikkas in MY school yelling Free YAYO, nikkas aint even know who yayo was :wow:
This is true man.

I remember doo rag era enimem was wearing that Free YAYO t while performing live back in 2004. That shyt was ill.

I couldn't remember a time where an artist like Yayo was hyped like that...50 set him up nice when he got out the pen. That shyt was unbelievable...Basically carried away into a guaranteed gold album.

He can write catchy hooks, but almost everyone on G Unit outshined him. Plus, people got so caught up in everything but the lyrics itself, led to rap being watered down.
when it comes to lyrical intricacy he's outshined by Banks when it comes to rawness 8 times outta 10 he's outshined by Buck but is not outshined in any other realm, definitely not overall

Fif was the last big cash out to NY street rap before the south took over. It's no coincidence that Lil Jon took over Summer 2003 and then souths takeover is still going on to this day.

Fif killed NY rap. These new NY nikkas are merely imitating the southern protocol of strip club/trap beats just to eat.
I mean Uncle Murda doing songs with Future...what else can you say?

The last cat to really do it for ny IMO was Max B and he's locked up. He was on the verge of blowing up something huge and then his momentum died like that. French been riding his wave.

I feel the same way about Stack Bundles (RIP) and Chinx (RIP).

I swear in like 2004/2005 Banks was hyped more than 50. He had a consistent style and could rhyme his ass off. Still can. He was killing it with hits.
