NYC
He dropped heat, but let's be honest with ourselves. I agree with you BTW, 50 and G-Unit flooded the market with product, with mixtapes, with features, was everywhere. Them and Dipset were the lat real crews repping NYC rap in the 00s.

Lyrically does he come close to anybody in the game past or present?
Does he come close with Em?
Jay?
Nas?
Rakim?
Z-Ro?
Twista?
Biggie?
Pac?

Content wise?
Does he come close?

What's the legacy of G-Unit now?
What's his legacy at the end of the day as an artist? That's what I'm talking about. IMO, he's just as much of an artist as Nelly is. As in he knew how to make hits.

His mixtapes were more vehicles for beefs than anything else.
As an MC, did he really outshine or body anybody on most of his tracks? He did...but for some reason as a rapper as an artist I'm not seeing what others are seeing anymore.

I would hate to call 50s music a fad cause he had the right package going, but his music got stale. Which leads me to believe the hype of 50 as an artist was manufactured.

Simple rhyme schemes
Sing songy flows that he took from ja that he made his
He was making them thug anthems that hustla musick
But where does this music put him now?

he wasn't spittin like nas and jigga but he still had an undeniable presence on tracks. plus his shyt was farrr more aggressive, and i think there's a place for that.

he had so much pain in his voice, but he also had the bravado. nobody sounded tougher on a track than 50 did back in 03.

I love clowning on pimpin curly like the rest of em, but I cant cosign this thread. Fif's run from his trio of mixtapes to his movie soundtrack is stuff of legend. His discography in that era alone is stronger than about 95% of the game today (including Drake's run)

Only reason why Fif's run didnt last longer was cause he was kind to his team and was feeding all his nikkas and putting them in positions to win.

I swear in like 2004/2005 Banks was hyped more than 50. He had a consistent style and could rhyme his ass off. Still can. He was killing it with hits.

ehhh . . I don't know about that . . the song felt like a 50 Cent spin-off record

GRODT is looked at as a classic by most people. :manny: The Booth is really the only place where I hear people talk negatively about that album....but then again nobody I know is talking about or checking for 50 these days.
That's his only classic.

The Massacre actually was where his fall off began.

I can understand a fan making a thread about an artist, but the irrational hate for a man they have never met but is always on their mind is "SPOOKY". These nikkas need friend to hang out with or a girlfriend.
Nah...this is a sad realization unfortunately.

50 is a legend...but at the end of the day, how much of it is really coming from his music?

Should of worked more with Mobb Deep...

His tracks with DMX was hot too...

This is probably his signature style summed up in one track...

This ain't no @SirBiatch troll thread, this is some stuff I was wondering. As a rapper where does 50 rank?

Plus most other artists in his commercial lane only sustained interest as long as they did because they stole skillsets from their "team" members, had ghostwriters carryin em. Weekend at Bernie's-ass skillsets
