My mom asks me basic stuff. I taught my mom in law how to cut and paste. My stepfather buys all this apple shyt then calls me over to teach him how to you use. He be at the apple store in chicago, denying presentations on some 'my stepson is going to teach me this better than you shyt'

My grandpa always thought the internet was some physical thing somewhere and he would always phrase it like "yeah, but where is like...the big bucket where they keep it all? you know, all that stuff has to be somewhere, so where do they keep the bucket?" :mindblown:

dude was a union painter his whole life and couldn't understand anything that wasn't a physical object. :manny:

Idk, to me it feels like they just stop caring about it. I'm over here still using PC's, modding files, downloading tons of shyt and installing RAM. But I was always like that, tech is only a mystery once to me, then I start getting nosey and seeing how I can make it better If you're from the 90's email was extremely foreign to everyone not just baby boomers, but kids as well, however some old people are stuck in the "I'm ok without it" phase. I never understand how you could see shyt like smartphones and not be interested.

The worst offending thing is when they throw out buzz words in an attempt to act like they know the lingo.

Mom: When are you going to come over and download this program off of this cd to my computer. Iceberg: It's not download Mom, it's to install the program. Mom: Ok, when you come over to download, I'll have some pepper steak for you (favorite mom dukes meal)

Stepdad: Why does my artists say Earth, Wind & Fire or Earth, Wind and Fire on my iPhone. I want it to be the same. Iceberg: we need to correct your metadata. Stepdad: metal data? I gotta open this damn thing up? No, we need to connect to iTunes. *Opens iTunes* Stepdad: Where do I find my iPhone on here again?

Mom in law. How do I use emojis in my messaging? Can you come over to update my GPS? I need to add new entries to my resume/cover letter, can you do it? What is HDMI?

My stepmother wants me to fix her computer and set up her surround sound and show her how to use it....

Its gonna be a long weekend.

My worst experiences funny enough, have been with old people and sound equipment...dear fukking Zeus, my dad still has 80's stereo tech....copper wires and antennas.

Whenever my Dad wants me to set up a cheap surround sound system he thinks is "good"
