those kids were so hypedI can't breath...that shyt got me in tears breh
those kids were so hypedgoldbergs streak is overrated.. 90% squash matches isnt impressive. And he wasnt as versatile as WCW tried to make him out to be
Wade Barrett is bland and boring
Hardcore Holly was a piece of shyt (most people would probably agree though)
Barret is trash, he always has been. This BNB shyt is getting over in England only (hence the post raw mania crowd)
He'll fizzle out like he always has.

never tried the chickenwing again after that in clubs. Still got old bouncer buddies that tease me about it to this day

and
to me. Not a confession, but Punk shouldn't have cut his hair. Or at least, he should have let it grow back after having his head shaved.
Confessions:
I wasn't totally in "wrestling is fake" mode when WCW was bought, so I really thought WCW/ECW was gonna end up wrecking WWF. Hell, I wanted them to.
I watched WCW to the bitter end, and liked it. Scott Steiner going ham and destroying everybody with the lead pipe wasand
to me.
Lance Storm in WCW was piff. Good matches, a gimmick that pissed most people off, and christening the U.S. title (my favorite championship) as the Canadian Heavyweight Championship... Elix Skipper did his thing too as the high flying heel cruiserweight.
I marked for The Brian Kendrick, before he got jobbed to hell for being a pothead. Didn't realize the racial connotations of him reading The Art of War vs Zeke reading Cat in the Hat at the time. And him becoming temporary champ during the Scramble had me marking the fukk out. I marked for Kennedy Kennedy's entrances, and ignored his ring work. Making him a face and giving him that uptempo theme killed it though.
Marked for Orton at one point, basically until about 2009. I still like his work in the ring to this day, and I only find him boring as a pure face. This is popular opinion though, so I guess that's not a confession either.
My first wrestling poster was a Sting poster I won at a carnival in '98.
I wish WWE ran in smaller arenas, and cut down on some of their over polished production values. The video editing and great camerawork should remain, but wrestling IMO should be presented with more "grit". ROH circa 2004-2008 had the perfect mix of characters and grit for me. At the very least, dim the fukking lighting.
I also sincerely wish wrestling and wrestling fans weren't associated with basement dwelling man-children who think everything is real and bytch and complain about every single thing. It's insane to to me that a product that has been airing on prime time TV weekly for 21 years, and has been on TV basically since the inception of television, has such a stigma around it. If you watch wrestling past a certain age you're looked upon as a person who hasn't grown up, because it's "fake", scripted to hell, and ultimately doesn't matter. Funny enough, that describes the vast majority of things that make it on the airwaves. Wrestling, to me, is a great mixture of scripted events and athletic feats, and while it shouldn't be profiled or recapped on Sportscenter (per se), the action in the ring is very real. Being a wrestling fan as an adult constitutes a lot of back talking, and qualifying statements, to make it acceptable to persons outside of the fandom. shyt is ridiculous. This is also not a confession, more of a mini rant.
I don't get involved in "greatest wrestler ever" arguments simply because it's a very subjective thing, and there isn't anything that can truly make or break your argument. HBK is my favorite wrestler ever, but if you talk to a Puro mark (for instance) they'll tell you about a Japanese guy you've never heard of, or watched, who dropped his opponents on his head and did some innovative move. You'll have someone else toss out Ric Flair's 16 World title reigns, or Stone Cold running shyt at the height of the Attitude Era, or John Cena carrying WWE through a downturn in business... it's all so subjective. Title reigns are a nice barometer of achievement, but when everything is scripted for your entertainment, who can really declare a "best of all time" or GOAT? It comes down to who YOU liked at a certain time, everything else be damned.
With that said, I do enjoy reading a compelling argument for or against a wrestler, because everything is open to interpretation from one point of view or another.
Lastly, I love the dissension Bryan Danielson brings into wrestling debates. On one side, you have guys who believe that BD should go over the entire world twice, and on the other side, you've got guys who can't buy into a 5'7" dude kicking so much ass and being the best in the world. It brings out the mark in everybody, and that's what wrestling should be for the fandom. MARKING. fukk being a smark. Just enjoy the show for what it is and what's presented to you. Mark and Smark should die as terminology outside of wrestling locker rooms.
