I've grown to appreicate Schiavone more since rewatching the Nitros on the Network but the constant hyperbole really wears you down after a while. He also never really clicked with a color commentator in the way you had with Gorilla and Jesse/Bobby or JR and King.

Speaking of WCW commentators, if I had a dollar every time Larry Zbyszko said "the human game of chess" on Nitro....

Imo, Tony Schiavone is the best announcer ever. Dude sold everything with 100% conviction no matter how terrible it was. Even JR can't claim that, as he'd make it pretty clear when he was not enthused with shyt. My recaps of all Nitro/Thunders led me for a profound appreciation of Tony, which only grew when hearing him call shows that were actually good.

The most fun commentating will always be from Heenan and Ventura in some way. I know Ventura definitely didn't like Tony Schiavone...he mentioned that a short awhile ago in a sit down with someone.

Well they had great chemistry. Jesse/Tony is up there on my top teams of all time, both in WCW and WWF. Are you sure it was Tony and not JR he was talking about?

Maybe him....tony and Jesse were definitely off and had a issue or two though.

I remember him saying he didn't mesh well with JR, mostly because he tried to create a face/heel dynamic in commentary but JR never played off of it. He would throw JR things to reply to, but JR would just stick to the play-by-play so they never became a good team.
