I've been watching JCP's saturday night show in chronological order. shyt is pretty fire, but by the time they brought UWF(I honestly had no idea they did btw) it seemed like they were starting to lose some steam. Which is crazy considering they got some influx of talent after they brought UWF.......

I'm not even halfway done with watching the episodes in 1987 and I'm already tired of Dusty.

Why every time they show Dark Journey they pan the crowd to brothas in the audience She was pretty fine in her day. Big Mama was fine too

Just watched the Canadian Stampede main event and damn those guys put on a clinic. Literally had the crowd eating from the palm of their hands from the entrances till the post match celebration

Haven't watched it in years, but Starrcade 87 was a lot worse than I remembered. These Dusty "finishes" are pissing me off. How were fans able to deal with that shyt back in the day??? Can't have the Warriors beat Arn & Tully, but can have a Dusty beat a prime Lex Luger Their booking was trash. And don't get me started on Garvin being the Champ....

Back in the day Dusty Finishes are what kept the territory hot

Heels would cheat the face out of the win and the marks paid money when they came back to the town or on ppv to see the payoff of the face finally winning clean

Things were definitely looking up at the time, benoit was an all time icon with all those moments before the tragedy

Honestly, once WCW and ECW died, I barely watched WWE. I tuned during the ECW revival only to get WWECW which was a damn shame. If it wasn't for Punk and Bryan, I probably would have gave up on wrestling as a whole. I'll probably binge watch the Ruthless Aggression era just to see what gems I missed besides Trips ruining Raw.

Had a couple of hours to kill yesterday so watched Summerslam '92 - truly one of the best PPVs ever... and entirely PG too.

Bret vs Davey was just as good as I remembered. Crowd were off the fukking chain. If anyone ever doubts Bret's GOAT status tell them the backstory and play them this match. The GOATMan pulled a 4.5 star match out of man who'd spent the last few weeks bunning crack with Jim Neidhart and botched nearly every move... Bret even managed to play heel to get the live crowd on his back, but perfectly judged so all would be forgotten at the end... maybe even making himself an even bigger babyface and somehow letting Davey come out as a deserving winner and champion.




Oh, and there is a moment of unbearable patriotic shame right at the start of the PPV when they're getting voxpops from kids in the crowd before the show and a clearly English boy fakes an American accent so he'll sound cooler on camera. We were a confused people in '92.
