KOTR 98 Rock was still getting boo'd as a heel.

Seems like around Breakdown 98 is when he started getting cheers. Then he was basically a face to fans by Judgement Day.....then in the few weeks following that. Being there when he Rock Bottom'd Vince before SS, was one of the loudest pops I've ever heard in person.

Then a few days later WWF said "thought you had a new favorite"

he had started getting cheers before getting rid of the nation too. they just kept getting bigger. there's a sunday night heat episode that I have on one of my external HDs where his pop was amazing and when austin was down doing commentary. Cornette flat out asked austin how he felt hearing the people cheer the rock as loudly as they cheer him ausin ended up doing a save run in when jarrett and someone else where doubling up on rock. then rock and austin came face to face as the episode ended. they were testing the waters.

but as far as his tweener/face turn before survivor series, thats one of the things that was so great about it. he changed NOTHING unlike most people when they turn.

Watching the 1992 Rumble again, Ric Flair earned his money that night. Dude got his ass kicked by everyone that entered that ring that night one of Heenan's finest performances on the mic, he conveyed desperation and frustration perfectly

Brain was on God mode that night, the funny shyt about Flair is he had history with like 10-15 guys in that Rumble so every time he thought he caught a breather outcomes someone else who wants to run that fade

Yeah early '98 Raw is kinda weak.

It only get's cooking from the Raw after Mania. But from there it's basically all gold.
