The Vince/Bret beat down went on so long you ended up feeling bad for Vince and feeling Bret was taking it too far, which is surely not what you wanted as the ultimate resolution to the Montreal story. But maybe it was intentional. It really should have been half as long. No more than 10 minutes, and none of the other Harts should have been involved at all.

It's really the ur-Attitude Era main event in many ways. So many trends can be traced back to how that match was put together.

Speaking of 1998 WWF...am I the only one who finds 98 DX absolutely cringeworthy these days? And not just Hunter either, the entire act is just one lame, juvenile joke after another, followed by embarrassing cultural references to try and be "hip" (X-Pac talking about DX "getting jiggy with it" made me INSTANTLY turn off that Raw). Not having Shawn Michaels there to anchor things is really affecting my ability to enjoy them, possibly because he's the only guy who is completely believable in the role of an irreverent degenerate (X-Pac and Road Dogg also fit the bill, but they're kneecapped by their material half the time).

At this point (May 1998), if a Raw segment doesn't involve Steve Austin or Vince McMahon, chances are it's NOT good. Can't call it boring, though, which is more than you can say about present day WWE.

DX in 98 was WAY better.. They were more over and drew money.. Plus I wasnt entertained with alot of that gay shyt they were doing with Michaels.. Playing strip poker and shyt

It was a cool little wrestling show to watch on a Tuesday night. I enjoyed it at least for the first 2 years.

I dont think WWE would have had anything for him booking wise and he'd eventually get the 'deavors. He'd probably later show up in WCW alongside Ahmed in that angle they were doing for that Booker vs stevie ray feud.

Watching Timeline: Christian vs Orton


Christian is one of the most underrated/overlooked wrestlers in WWE history. Dude has always been better than Edge and way better than a bunch of the other bullshyt that got pushed from that 05-10 era like Swagger, Sheamus, Del Rio, Khali . etc.
