Steve Blackman is one of the most random ass pick ups I've ever seen in WWE. Dude was a Stampede mid carder who hadn't worked in nearly a decade when they brought him in.

And he had been a jobber in WWF back in '88...

He contracted malaria and took years to recover from it, then re-trained himself to wrestle again. The story probably interested Vince and made him give Blackman a shot, I'm guessing.

Watching Souled Out '99 (Yeah, I'm that bored) and it's just comical how all the babyfaces in the locker room give zero fukks while Flair and his son are getting beat down by like 10 NWO guys . I get it isn't their beef, but damn. Like earlier in the same show they interviewed Booker T and he was taking exception to Jericho putting Saturn in a dress, but apparently sees nothing wrong with the beatdown and humiliation of the Flairs and the Horsemen.
