Watching this Gimmick countdown and I'm mad I never put together the connection between the American Dream and Akeem the African Dream. Something must be up cause Vince took absolutely any chance he could to take shots at Dusty Rhodes.

Yeah... Dusty was the head booker at NWA during the time they were in direct competition with each other, doing that PPV shyt (Starrcade/Survivor Series, Bunkhouse/Royal Rumble, WrestleMania/Clash 1). I guess Vince wanted to throw shots with "Virgil" and the African Dream... and then really had a ball once Dusty signed with him. But Dusty kinda had the last laugh cause he got that goofy-ass gimmick over.
