Russians play chess, not tic-tac-toe. Their response will be subtle yet strong. It could be that Turkey offers a public shaming by allowing a retaliatory attack on a wayward aircraft of their own or perhaps a russian bombing run on the Turkmen in Syria which would help Putin save face. There might even be the unexplained disappearance of a dignitaries family member(S) which is definitely in the style of the Putin. His pride is in his image of tough action. Between the downed passenger jet in egypt, accusations from the west over dubious target selection in Syria and now this, he is looking ineffectual. They will retaliate but not by launching on Istanbul.

Naw u are talking checkers moves. Bombing a Turkish commercial jet? :comeon: Kidnapping an Ergodan? :usure: Putin's best and IMO most likely move is to present unarguable proof of the existence and depth of the connection between Turkey and ISIS. He made the claim, now he has to prove it. If he does, he will force all the NATO members to respond to it and punish Turkey for him, while also making much more effective strides in cornering and destroying ISIS. Only hangup is his propaganda machine only works inside Russian borders.

I suggest not flying Turkish Airlines in the near future. :ahh:

YUP! One of the most powerful anti air missile system is now being deployed to Syria. This thing has enough range to cover and shoot down ANYTHING over Syria. Secretly I think Russia is happy about this incident because now it gives them the political cover to do whatever the fukk they want in the middle east,

Russia will deploy S-400 defense missile systems to Hmeymim airbase in Syria, Russian Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoygu said Thursday.

Russia is deploying S-400 Triumf (NATO reporting name: SA-21 Growler) next generation surface-to-air missile systems to the Hmeymim airbase in Syria where the Russian Aerospace Forces group is stationed, according to Russian Defense Minister Gen. Sergei Shoigu.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin agrees with the Defense Ministry's proposal to deploy S-400 missile defense systems to the Syrian airbase.

Yeah how do yo think this ends up with the russians creating and securing a sovereign kurdish territory

One way to "legally" fight Turkey without engaging NATO is to arm and supply its enemies. Their main enemy or dissenters are the Kurds. They cover land in Turkey, Iraq, and Syria. Russia being Assad's allies will allow them to negotiate a Kurdistan statehood in Syria. Iraqi Kurds, IMO, will also have a fairly easy time achieving statehood in a fractured Iraqi system. Control of land is a big deal in Iraq right now and a solid leadership bodes well for all parties. Lastly, and the most important piece to the puzzle are the Turkish Kurds. Turkey will fight tooth and nail to keep them in Turkey and keep the land Turkish. Russia can fight back against Turkey without NATO repercussions by supporting the Turkish Kurds with financial aid and weapons to undermine the Turkish govt. Basically a proxy war that shields Russia from NATO, which seems to be the only option barring a major war. Russia will find support even from the west, IMO, as the Kurds have been aligned with western interests for a while now and they are the only group in that region that supports the west. There will be no media backlash as the Kurds are a media darling. It will basically put Turkey in a tight spot, similar to what Turkey just did to Russia. Sure, Russia could clean house right now, but they'd face repercussions from NATO which aren't worth it. Same thing will happen but vice versa. Turkey will be getting shyt on and won't have the PR/support to get Russia back for their support of Kurdistan. But thats just my opinion and obviously theres a lot of moving pieces that need to fall into place for that to happen but its a possibility. Im just rambling now but those are my thoughts.

Israel won't meddle in Syrian affairs unless it directly effects them. A destabilized Syria is good for Israel. Keeps the terror cells attacking their own people instead of Israeli's.

They can also fully develop the Golan

Also, is Pepe aint lying here:

Tell me breh. Tell me right now what options the squatter state can take to stop russia from deploying this system?

Lets look at our options:

1. bytch to big daddy USA who can then sanction Russia, but russia wont care

2. They can shoot down the plane transporting the system but of course that means war

3. They can attack the air base but of course that means war

4. They can send Mossad on the sneak tip but if they get caught that could mean war.

So tell me breh, how exactly would Israel stop Russia from deploying this system? And id like a real answer not your usual conceding jab followed by a smiley.

Looks like one of the pilots made it out alive. This is the rescue mission by SAA and Hezbollah which found and brought the 2nd pilot to safety. I bet Russia is breathing a lot easier. The footage is in Russian.

Main things.

  1. Rocket was launched at second SU-24 too, he evaded.
  2. F-16 were on Syrian territory.
  3. The pilot of the downed SU-24 is safe. Navigator is dead.
  4. Three MI-8 went for the rescue op. First damaged then destroyed, second damaged, third returned safe. "Crocodiles" covered the operation, SAA was very helpful.
Navigator is alive, pilot is dead.

Names of deceased:

  • Aleksandr Pozynich, deceased marine, was awarded posthumously for bravery. He died when his Heli was attacked
  • Oleg Anatolievich Peshkov - the pilot shot in the air awarded Hero of Russia posthumously.
  • Konstantin Murahin - rescued navigator also awarded for bravery.
