Five injured in pipe bomb blast near Istanbul metro: local mayor
Five people were injured when a pipe bomb exploded on an overpass near an Istanbul metro station on Tuesday, the district mayor told A Haber television.
Atilla Aydiner, the mayor of the Bayrampasa district on the European side of the city, was speaking on live television after the explosion hit the industrial and residential area near the height of evening rush hour.

If its just Turkish planes then they are outmatched technologically. It would be no contest for the SU-30 and 34 facing Turkish F-16's, you would need 2 F-16's for every Su-30 to make it a challenge, and 3 or more against each Su-30 to make sure you win.
While the S-400 is 400 km minimum it can be used offensively. There is a reason for that joint agreement for communication between the Israelis and the Russians. The Russians had to make sure the israelis are not worried, they will not be targeted. Why go to all this trouble? Its because the S-400 system can hit any plane taking off from any airfield in Isreal, any, even the S-300 can do this but you have to move it to the Golan border. The S-400 from Kuweiris and Tartus can do it from there.
It can also be used as a Surface to Surface missile...
We are talking about an entire generation ahead of the patriot, why do you think Erdogan went out of his way to try to buy the HQ-9 system from China? Its China's less capable copy of the S-300 system. The HQ-9 is so much better than the Patriot that it is leased from the Americans. As usual, the US forced Erdogan to cancel the purchase, even after the agreement was signed..
The US is great at some things and terrible at others. Air defense missiles, ballastic missiles, and space launch vehicles are crap right now. The European Aster Missile system by France, Italy and UK is far superior to anything the US has..
The Russians are behind in processor and chipset technology. But are up to date with solid state electronics and are ahead of the rest of the world in high energy physics like plasma. They were practically alone in the field of hydrodynamics till the 80's,
and are ahead in electronic warfare.
It will take time - but there will be a détente between Moscow and Ankara. The game the Chinese are trying to play in Eurasia will eventually get Turkey and Russia back together. This wedge between them is of great joy to everyone inside the beltway and NATO. It's very obvious.
