Black Excellence. Keep the business. Pass it down to your kids. Let them be mad they can't buy you out

Tristan Walker did this and was forced to sell.

They are too caught up in the Beyond Meat bubble or are just looking for exposure.

Your kids will be spoilt unmotivated brats who don't appreciate struggle and will most likely blow your money on dumb sh!t.

Whatever is left. Your grandkids will burn through.

The stats don't lie.

Homegirl said, "Our revenue is $60,000, net is $73,000, gross $76,000"

That had me :deadmanny: until she mentioned she's flipping $2.67 worth of chicken for $44. :gladbron:

That's an accomplishment right there.

Next thought, who the fukk is paying that much for artificial chicken? Is that sustainable? Can you grow a business at those insane margins? Fake meats is expensive, but this shyt is obscene.

I'd have cashed out, and moved on to the next venture. :manny:

They came in seeking $500k for 10% (which means they value their company at $5 million). Mark Cuban and Napoleon's cousin offered them $1 million for the whole business PLUS 10% perpetual royalty. So Mark and Indian guy will do the heavy lifting and turn it into a massively profitable business worth millions and all they have to do is sit at home and collect checks....for life. Also by turning down such an offer they've lost a connection to a billionaire businessman. Just way too many negatives in what they did.

(It should be noted that many business owners believe their company is more valuable than its actual worth. So them thinking their business is worth $5 million is meaningless unless the numbers back it up)

This is with any asset and some people don't understand. You can put a house on the market for $10 million thinking it's worth that but if its not selling at that price, the house will magically be priced at 7 next year.

In regards to her decision, only time will tell if it was the right choice.

I'll say this, if I started a business -- my main goal would be to semi-retire (20 hour work week) so I can focus on other projects/volunteer ASAP. So if I was given a mili + 10% royalties - that would be a great opportunity I'm not sure I would pass up on. Especially if I'm putting in 80+ hour work weeks to grow the business.

You could probably live off the royalties alone and use the million for investments and starter money for other things.

I'm sure she can sell it for more in a few years tho. I hope so.

There are so many ideas you could steal from Shark Tank. Many businesses on there can be thriving and making money but the owner/operator could be a clueless moron who just got lucky (like this girl)

Take that million and that 10%, flip it into other products and piggy back off of the original product. Just make sure if they use your name in the original product you can still use it for other ventures. A lot of people sell the rights to their name and fukk themselves if the product makes bank in the long run

Don't come at me over this bc I'm not a business major, I don't know shyt about business and I'm slightly high. This is all me just thinking out loud

Actually they were smart.

The biggest craze in food is impossible beef. It is plant-based beef. KFC just signed a deal with those creators. My grocery store advertised it in their paper. They are predicting that this is the future of "meat".

Hence why Mark offered her a mil plus 10% for the entire thing. He knows they will get more than 100 mil, especially since beef is doing so well.

Talk to these niccas witcho sexy smart ass

Cliffs:
- Black couple starts a fried chicken business called 'Atlas Monroe' (stupid name)
- Refuses to hire copackers to protect 'secret recipe'
- Cost them $2.67 to make 6 pieces of chicken but the costs to the consumer is $44 (chicken, packaging, shipping, etc.)
- Brehette doesn't know the difference between sales and revenue.
- Thinks that because she made 12k one day that she'll make 12 everyday (um it doesn't work like that)
- The chicken isn't real chicken. It's some plant-based sciency thing (didn't understand the details)
- In spite of the confusing presentation receives an offer of 1 million dollars plus 10% lifetime royalty
