Both should pay the bills. We live in different times. How is a married couple supposed to build generational wealth, if one person is paying for everything?

I had a good friend get burned with the same logic that @Swagnificent is talking about. He said (and I can still quote him nearly verbatim) "I'll never say not to get married but I will say fukk paying for everything when she works also because you don't have the law on your side. 12yrs I can't get back where she worked and saved all of her money. I rushed back after my car accident injuring my back because she made me believe it would strain us down the line by me using my savings to offset the income loss from the Short Term Disability claim. I had no idea she had over $300k stashed away bc I was just paying for everything out of habit. So when I started asking about her money bc she quit her job & was half stepping around the house she wanted to separate. She divorced me a year later and I pay alimony because she was 'accustomed to a lifestyle' based on the fact I paid everything. So in hindsight she played the hustle perfectly and now I'm working 18hrs days between this job and another to still take care of her, the kids and my household. I only found out about what she had saved after finding her bank statements when I was shredding old documents. "

He said he confronted her about it and she bragged about now being about $400k and told him he should be grateful she didn't put him on child support too.

I guess I'd feel like some of you guys if I were still paying major bills. House been paid for over 10 years ago, no car notes, the rest of the bills are minor.

Only a man making in the top 1% should have a wife in their house making 80k and not paying any bills.

Unless you a millionaire kat I can't see a wife living in a home making 80k and not paying any bills.

If a wife even says some shyt that she shouldn't pay any bills she is selfish as hell.

shyt would be like a able body man who works 40 hours a week (off on the weekends) and doesn't do chores at the house, but the wife does all the chores.

yea, the entire thing makes no sense to me. it's unrealistic and a recipe for disaster. LSA or twitter posters that have that mentality must be living in a different world than what I see.

The girl I am currently dating makes a little over $80k and I make 6X what she makes and we have never had any issues about who is paying for what. She surprised me with two vacations earlier this year and she is making most of the plans for our December vacation and paying for it. Of course, she knows I am not stingy, I always reciprocate and foot almost all the bills whenever we are together but neither of us keeps track of who is paying for what. She is in her mid 20s but trying to move up and double her salary in a decade, she has no plan on depending on me. Maybe she is playing the long game and trying to get me to wife her up before she starts trying to be a gold digger.

We don't leave together but when she comes to my place I am usually the one telling her to not waste time cooking or try to clean anything. I guess I cant relate to people keeping track of every little irrelevant thing. two people making 80k can get a fukking housekeeper and if housework becomes a point of contention.

If a woman has to pay for anything then she was never worth getting with in the first place.

This is a broke ho mindset
Imagine both of yall making good money and not trying to contribute so yall household can be in the best shape possible for you and the kids

And if both of yall broke, no choice but to pool that money
Nobody actually believes this shyt

I'm behind on my post quota so let me recycle one from June

It's about how we split the bills

I pay the bills that are blue, uh-huh
Like a bruise
Better yet,,,, Blue's Clues

She pays the bills that are black:whew:

We ignore the red colored bills:mjlol:
they go in the drawer with spare batteries and rubber bands

I'm not sure what becomes of our paperless bills:francis:

ETA: wifey just told me she pays the paperless bills with autobillpay

So I guess I pay 25% and she pays 50% :blessed:

it only got 4 daps
:lupe: I should've went with a Dr Seuss one fish two fish red fish blue fish joke
Instead of that obscure ski mask da slump gawd reference :francis:

No.

If I make good money I'm going for the best looking woman I can get. And the best looking women tend to not make their own money but instead get by just on their looks.

This is not the average relationship

You're talking about tricking on a trophy wife

Nothing wrong with it
