a dub is a remix of a song but they change the lyrics slightly to diss the opposition
example if the song was clique where original lyrics are 'nobody fkin with my clique' they lyrics could be changed to 'asap rocky licks fat rosannes clit clit clit' so remix the original song, same melody same tone, but change it to a diss.

dub/dubplate = remix or unique version of a track that only you as a DJ own. usually with your name in it, the chorus or vocal rewritten to big you up. if there is a big soudclash looming then DJs will seek out dubplates to kill their opponent on the night. the dubs then take on a new shape, remixed to slew (kill) the opponent on the night.
fwd = when your dubplate gets everyone so gassed up all you can do is pull it up and then play your next dubplate. basically peaking in the dance.
in the uk we also have rwd culture which is simply when a tune in a club gets everyone so gassed the tune gets jacked up and played again from the begining.

and ALL of this dub/war dub/ soundclash etc talk is all JAMAICAN culture that the uk has respected, adopted and assimilated into their culture in various ways and to various degrees since the 70's to create its own sh1t (see lovers rock, jungle, dubstep and to a lesser extent grime)...sh1t the name dubstep came from putting dub reggae and 2-step garage together...
and btw, so much of hip hop and its vital components come from jamaican dub soundsystem culture...you brehs should know this sh1t...i hope there aint any brooklyn niccas in here asking what a dub is
