Man, the PS2 era of Madden was a blast. The series fell off hard starting in the PS3 generation.
Madden 04 was the first year I know of that you could run a dynasty in ncaa football 04 and upload the senior class into madden. Ncaa even had a sports illustrated cover every week letting u know about huge matchups around the league. And you could recruit high schoolers
I rode with the Miami hurricanes+Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Had to face Vick twice a year
Missed the playoffs the first year. Made the NFC championship next year, went up 42-10 in green Bay, started thinking about the super bowl, lost the entire lead in the second half, ended up losing by 3 points in regulation. That was the most painful loss of my video game memories, I had to play through the whole season in 2 different games just to get back to that point, damn near cried
GOAT player to ever play Madden was my first round draft pick that year, wr#12 out of Oregon. Ran a 4.1 40, fastest in the game. Developed into the Michael Jordan of football, I could win games with him returning punts. 4 straight super bowl wins
Broke up with a couple of girlfriends over this game, got sick and tired of them demanding all my attention when I just wanted to play my season sometimes. One chicken showed up unannounced at 5am in the morning when I had notebooks opened, I did not open the door. She went and got security and broke into my place ready to kill thinking I was hiding another girl. That's when I stopped letting girls know where I live
Imagine thinking random Mario kart/zelda/soul caliber being anywhere close to the greatest sports game of all time
