If it ain’t a legacy, Super Hero or high budget special effects movie then it’s going to have a hard time at the box office. The riskier movies you now have streaming platforms like Dramas and suspense movies.

The correct answer.

Aries was right about the human experience of the movie theater, but the number/types of movies to hit will be limited. The original story drama/comedy/even thriller doing 350M on a 30M budget is done.

I also see Vlad's point about the script sitting in a folder over a budget/actor salary. In 10-15 years a studio is gonna try this but I don't know how well it'll work.

Which I can see this meaning you will have less A-List upcoming movie stars.

I mean A.I will probably be good for a base but you will definitely need humans for the intricate parts conveying emotion and comedy.

This has already been an issue for the last decade for other reasons (overexposure from (social) media, emphasis on story/concepts). There's no longer a such thing as a "bankable star" who draws an opening weekend on name alone and guarantees 100M/budget recoup.

One person I could see being a bankable movie star is Drake. He has acting chops and I could see him being big in the movie industry. He has the audience and base to do it.

But I agree social media had fukked it up.!

If that were the case he'd have tried it by now. If The Rock needs popular franchises the way he does I can't see Drake carrying movies in the box office.
